I walked the streets, alone, no one to hold.
My cry for companionship unanswered but only by fate.
An answer, a similar cry, one needing help as me.
He walks, alone, seeking a heart to share his need.
We walk.
Walking, our cries answered, the lines between us blurred.
A pebble stands in the way, unmoved by the connection.
Problems crushed now, we are one.
Until, a snap is heard, blood is splattered, dreams gone.
He falls.
Like a burst of lightning, he falls, someone runs.
My arms reach for him, hands clasping, people crowding.
The lifeblood falls from his heart, spilling onto the lines, dissolving them.
He head nestled within my arms, he speaks, one final time.
He has gone.
Nothing left but the memories, of the one who answered my cry.
A cry shall never be heard from me, for fear of an answer.
Now, I walk, alone in this world, no one to hold, life is bare.
The footsteps die out, no more shall the lines be blurred.
I walk.
