Those greedy bastards don't give a rat's a** about the welfare of the animals. They'll engage in any way shape or form of mistreatment if they think it would make them an extra dime. How many horses have to die on the track before America realizes what's going on?
Those horses are babies who are expected to perform like professional athletes. All those Thoroughbreds are 3 years old. They aren't even fully grown. Their bones can't take the living beating that a mature horse's can. Sounds painful, right? It is. That's why the trainers dope them up with bute to mask the pain so they'll perform better. What happens when they can't feel the pain? Put it together.
It happened to Eight Belles. They knew damn well she wasn't fit to run. That's why the jockey knew she was going down when she started running funny. The poor filly felt her legs beginning to shatter. You wanna know what that feels like? Try taking a hammer to both your shins and then running hurtles at Olympic level.
Then some dumb bastards say, "They love running. It's what they live for."
Yeah. They live for it because they'll be shipped off for human consumption if they don't make the cut.
They love being whipped all the way down the track? Please. Nobody likes running with hemorrhaged lungs. Nobody likes being exploited and seen as nothing but a piece of property and a multi-million dollar investment.
America as a whole is too morally corrupt and besotted to see what's happening right under their noses. Either that or they don't care.
I will never change my mind. Racing is cruel and thoughtless. Call me an animal rights freak. Actually, I'm not that fond of PETA. I'm not a vegan. I like hamburgers. You get my point.
Racing needs to stop, but I doubt that'll ever happen because too many people (who are already drowning in money) can't go without their income or status.
Go ahead and participate in betting on horses and whatnot. Watch them being treated like slaves. You'll just become part of the problem and therefor higher on the list of people I'd love to shoot.
Another thing I can't stand! When a horse wins a race, it's the owner and trainer who get their pictures taken with the trophy. Hello, dumbasses. The horse just won the race for you, earned you a shitload of money that you don't even need, and you're getting all the credit. Bunch of dumbass ******** up in there.

I'm going to kill them someday. Break their limbs and beat the s**t out of them like they do to the horses. That's the only reason I'd ever go to a derby. Those fat bastards.
