Sunshine put to use
I am distracted
by the greenness of spring
flower petals tangle in the air currents
dancing
children, stop and wonder
feet hit pavement, the heat rising up
breathing heavy
legs pump, arms swing
tightening muscles swing from the hip
tired, shaky, alive...gasping for air
and then calm, the fatigue sinking lower
the final stretch, a final burst, to finish
