Hm. This might actually be the perfect place to put my character drabbles. idea 3nodding

An intro for the characters:

Kalandra (Kal) : Youngest of five children, only girl. Closest brother is six years older. Very tomboyish. Has chin length dark brown/black hair, and grey eyes the color of a well used sword. Is loathe to admit she has a feminine side, and finds that girly-girls make her quite irritable. Has little use for men in general, with her brother, Seth, and Reggie being the exceptions. Mother was the local wise-woman, until she succumbed to pneumonia three years ago, leading to Kal’s apprenticeship. She’s got little love for Master Lucien, but has come to a grudging respect for him. Is quick tempered, a trait that doesn't exactly mesh well with Lucien's...unique personality. Is a far better cook than she lets on, and that is about the only feminine thing she allows herself, aside from a tiny talent for the more sartorial arts. Learned to fight from her brothers, both watching and actively learning, and is quite impatient to learn the more useful side of alchemy.

Reginald (Reggie) : Only son from a widowed mother, who had an older daughter by a previous marriage, and went on to have two younger daughters, only one of whom survived past the age of five. Is very foppish with his demeanor, and often questioned about his sexual orientation due to the fact that he is quite sensitive. Likes making people happy, and is quite unhappy when he cannot help. Blonde, green eyed and quite slim, he has a talent for song, and could have been a bard, but for the fact that he has no ear for music. Poetry, yes. Music… he and music are about as acquainted as a drunk with couth. Has a fervent desire to learn how to fight so as to rid himself of the questioning glances, but is too terrified to ask. Dislikes the fact that Master Severin seems to take joy in making him squirm, and doesn’t particularly find Severin’s nature to mesh well with his own.

Dana: Only child. Father is a Master in one of the local scrivener’s guilds, specializing in different kinds of shorthand. Mother always has her nose in a book. Dana comes by her bookish nature quite honestly. Book smart and world stupid, Dana’s an idealist. Always wanting the world to become a better place, she ignores the ‘dirty’ details. War, in her mind, is unnecessary. Disputes could be solved by talking. Is quite upset about being apprenticed to the foremost military Master in the alchemical guild, finding it out of place with her ‘perfect world.’ Short, with mousy brown hair and murky grey green eyes, she fades into the background with ease, which suits her. Very feminine in most other respects, enjoys the fact that she can generally see the undercurrents of a relationship before it starts. Knows that Master Tamara finds her an annoyance with her constant talks of pacifism, but hopes someday that the master will come around. Also has a very bad habit of trying to be helpful by re-stating the obvious. Was apprenticed at a young age due to the fact that both parents needed her out of the house for their own sanity.
