Memento Mori
Remember you are mortal, remember you will die.
Half Moon Side Story - Characters: Hika, Mura, Tetsuia
[[Bleh, I think I'm depressed. Need something cheerful to pick us all up.

Another Half Moon sidestory - though I'm not actually done or even close to done with the original Half Moon line. >.>. Version 2.6/Part 1 Up.

Hopefully, it'll have the same effect on me like the last one...The one with Hika ending up shackling Mura to a bed. ^.~. I'm planning on revising it. ^__^
Half Moon - Rough Draft Side Story 1]]

----------------------

The small cathedral in the center of Astra had a single lit window in this stormy night. Inside were three inhabitants, a white-haired child younger than the rest of them who looked curiously at a taller figure wearing a purple trenchcoat, white dress shirt, and pants while the black-haired one lying under the covers of a white bed had a blank, yet curious stare on his face as he saw the two.

"Wait a second, you're telling me you guys never ate ice cream?” the taller of the three asked incredulously. His messy black hair bounced as he shook his head in exasperation. Black eyes stared at the white-haired figure sitting cross-legged on a bed.

"Umm...no. I don't really get out of Sanctuary...and Mura-san's too busy with his missions, Tetsuia-san," the white-haired child spoke nervously, staring at Mura lying on the bed with bandages all over his chest. Mura simply shook his head to agree with the question.

Tetsuia sighed exaggeratively before putting a fist up and yelling, “Okay! We are going to get ice cream right now!”

Silence met that enthusiastic statement, the addressed giving confused and incredulous looks respectively.

Giggling, Hika turned red from laughter while Mura simply gave Tetsuia a bland condescending stare even from his lower position on the bed.

”Okay, Mura. What is it?” Tetsuia’s eyes narrowed at the two responses. Hika didn’t seem to be in any condition to say anything, his laughter echoing through the cathedral’s walls, but that look that Mura was giving him was pissing him off.

Mura rolled his eyes and motioned with his head at the brown grandfather clock in the room, reading two o’clock in the morning. Turning over to face the wall, Mura pulled the blanket over him and didn’t move again. Hika glanced over at the shackle on Mura’s leg which rattled as it hit the bedpost before facing Tetsuia who had a raised eyebrow and a grin on his face.

“So…shackling your patients, Hika? I never knew you were like that.” Tetsuia asked amusingly, his eyes staring at the chains in amusement. He already knew the reason why Hika repetitively did this to Mura...but it was still fun to tease the sheltered kid.

A blink from Hika met that inquiry as his mind tried to process the words, then he blushed visibly red, and then he exploded.

“Maaa…T-Tet-san. It’s…it’s nothing like that!” Hika’s white locks of hair frantically jumped around as his purple eyes stared around the room for something to help him. His gaze stared over to the clock, to Tetsuia himself who had a less-than-benevolent grin on his face, the metal shackle attached to the bed, and then Mura before back to Tetsuia again. “M-M-Mura keeps running out on me!” His blush deepened when he realized what he had just said, unable to look Tetsuia in the eyes anymore. “He…he…doesn’t wait to heal properly and..and…and..” Hika shook before saying quietly…fearfully, “I d-don’t want him bleeding somewhere passed out…!”

Unknown to both of them, the figure under the covers twitched before staying still once more.

The situation became awkward with Hika simply staying silent in his own thoughts and Tetsuia reeling from the fact that he once again placed his foot into his mouth. He’s been doing that a lot since of late actually. That girl Fuji, Mura, and now Hika. It’s like the god of eloquence decided to smack him over the head again and again.
Tetsuia knew he shouldn’t have said that anyways. The only reason why Mura was injured so severely was because of him and his arrogance. Though it touched him that Mura had actually taken a bullet (several) for him, he still had to ask the question ‘Why?’ The Mura he had known wouldn’t ever sacrifice himself…he was always for the mission…for the kill. What had changed?

A nervous tentative voice brought his mind back to reality.

“Um…Tet-san. I think we should go to our quarters for the night. There’s an empty room for you to sleep in to the left of this one….I need to stay here…” Hika paused, looking warily at Tetsuia, “And replace the bandages three hours from now.”

The oldest one of the group sighed as he opened the flimsy wooden door of his temporary room, saying “I understand. Good night Hika.”

“Good night Tetsuia-san.” Hika moved slowly into a rocking chair, watching the clock as it ticked down.

The faint rays of a morning sun shined on the Cathedral of Alberio. The sounds of the normals removing the barricades off their doors and the locks off their windows
filled the cool moist air. An orange sun peeked slightly above the coliseum and revealed the facade of Astra.

A peaceful city without problems.

Inside the Cathedral, the black-haired Tetsuia slowly opened the door to the convalescence room...
