In a not so far off future, humans thrived in a technology run age. Out of a blue, strange creatures started to appear. Anything from androids to creatures of myth and lore, started to roam in the cities. As they started to draw attention to themselves, the humans started to panic and fall back on old ways of wanting to contain and control these beings. Things were not going as planned, when a simple registry of these new creatures turned into many conflicts. Simple riots in the streets grew bigger and more deadly. This war went on for over a ten years and seemed to look to never end. As things escalated to an all out war, the planet became devastated by virtual virus that killed most of the world’s technology.
Along with the lack of technology, the sky was scorched five years back, and the rain started to irritate the skin of those not use to it. Here the buildings are now broken and torn. Only those rebuilt have proper stability to house properly. But most stay in old abandoned office buildings, and what not. Certain foods and beverages have become a hard to find item, thus causing a black market. Streets are broken and have been replaced with old time cobblestone. Cars are no more due to not having the refining stations for gasoline but some things have managed to survive. Those that forage for scrap technology and find ways to keep them running, do so. Such things such as phones; computers or anything digital is next to impossible to maintain working due to the corruption of the virus.
The government is no more and those authority figures (i.e. police and fire department) have been tainted with greed and the need to survive. Death lurks around each corner as races clash and some come together just to figure out how to survive in this broken world. Some of the city has been claimed by races, so walking into them can be hazardous to ones health. As of late, some rouge lab freaks released a chemical that turned most humans into carnivorous zombies. They roam about, lurking for their victims, generally jumping out an anything that smells fresh.
