yah It's innaccurate but I wrote it in the begging of last year where i Didn't have pete's documented favourite food cry xp The Day I Met Pete Wentz
“Katy,” my mom shouted from down the stairs, “a letter came for you.”
Through my head I made a list of all the kinds of junk mail it could be “Humane society, Girl Scouts, bank statement, advertisements,” I mumbled to myself. I had just gone through a rough day and I was grumpy as a black cloud. I sharply ripped the letter from her hands and stomped up to my room to read it. I plopped down into my butterfly chair and immediately noticed something odd about the return address. Instead of being that of an advertiser, it was said falloutboyrock.com on the top. I ever so carefully opened the envelope so I wouldn’t tear the letter. As my eyes scrolled down the page I noticed the phrase “Congratulations! Your essay has won the Meet Pete sweepstakes!” I joyfully skipped around the room and rushed downstairs to tell my mother the wonderful news.
“Mommy guess what, I get to meet Pete Wentz!” I screamed in delight.
In a bland voice she said, “Well, if you have to bring an adult as a supervisor, ask your father.” It was all set. On Tuesday, June 5th I would go on a private jet to Chicago with my dad to meet Pete Wentz. I was counting the days until I had the experience of a lifetime.
Clad in my Fall Out Boy hat and shirt, I was on my way to Akron Canton airport with my dad. We got onto a huge private jet. I listened to Fall Out Boy music the whole way there in anticipation of the big day ahead of me. Waiting for us at O’Hare airport was Pete Wentz himself!
Pete Wentz said in a welcoming manner, “Welcome to Chicago, you must be Katy Field!”
“Yes, I am Katy Field and I’ve been waiting my whole life for this moment!” I happily replied. We got in a limo and stopped at a small Chinese food place in downtown Chicago. Immediately as we got out of the limo, a small crowd of screaming Fall Out Boy fans started clustering around Pete begging for an autograph. We managed to weave silently through the screaming crowd of people into the small Chinese restaurant. After we had been seated
I shouted “Happy Birthday Pete!”
“Thanks for remembering,” he replied. I had a million questions running through my head and just couldn’t think of what my first question for him would be.
After a while of frantic thought, I blurted out “So Pete what’s your favorite food?”
“Well, I love sushi and Chinese food, so that’s why we're eating here,” he replied.
“I love sushi!” I, for some reason, happily replied. Finally the waitress came. I ordered sweet and sour chicken and fried rice, Pete got duck, my dad got calamari, and we all got sushi to share.
“Is there going to be a new Fall Out Boy album coming out soon?” I asked knowing I sounded like some generic teen magazine writer.
For my generic magazine question I got a generic magazine answer “Fall Out Boy is taking a break now but, there might be a new one in the summer of 2008.”
I was at loss for questions because I knew the answers to most questions because I constantly research Pete Wentz. Fortunately my dad chimed in with a question that I could have easily answered.
“Peter did you grow up in an area around here?” he blankly asked
“Yah, I grew up in Wilmette which is an area about 15 minutes from here.”
“Oh, My best friend lives in Wilmette.” my dad replied almost robotically.
I could tell my dad wanted me to say something so he wouldn’t be stuck talking to my obsession.
At last I said, “Where did you get the inspiration to make Infinity on High such a different style than you did for Under the Cork Tree?”
“Well, we decided as a group that even though we were considered one genre of music, we also liked other genres and decided to branch out and be unique,” he said
After what seemed like an extremely small time increment but was actually two hours, it was time to say goodbye to Pete and go home.
“Bye Peter, keep doing what you and Fall Out boy are great at,” I sorrowfully said
“Bye, it was nice meeting you Katy,” he replied.
I got onto the plane to go home with a story in my heart and bragging rights to say that I had met the one....the only... Pete Wentz!
