The campfire popped and cracked as the night grew to an even darker stage. Inuyasha uneasily stared at the dying fire as he wondered about what lie ahead of him. He had come to enjoy the precence of his companions over the past two years he had been with them. Especialy one miko in particular...
He knew that soon once they had completed their quest of defeating Naraku, she would have to return to...her own world.
He couldn't bare the thought of her leaving him...

He glanced around the campfire seeing his sleeping companions. Miroku, the lecherous monk, was fast asleep, muttering something about Sango bearing his child...
Inuyasha rolled his eyes and then looked at Sango, who was about a yard away from Miroku, trying to keep her distance, although the two had grown so much closer over the past two yearrs as well. He then glanced over to Kagome's sleeping bag...he saw Shippo lying there, but-- no Kagome.
Inuyasha looked again- closer this time- to make sure that his eyes were not playing tricks on him, but sure enough, there was an empty space...
