I am not a journal person, but I can't remain silent any longer.
What does it mean to follow a faith you know is true? Does it mean you attend the religious events and talk with the religious people? Does it mean you speak in cliche's and do charitable things? Does it mean making everyone happy and letting everyone go about their merry way?
If it were that, would it not simply be a lifestyle, and not a belief?
To believe in something means that it will effect your outlook on life.
As a born again Christian I find myself in a world that hates me and speaks out of both sides of it's mouth in hopes of silencing me.
But as a Christian [which means, little-Christ-ling] I cannot roll over and let them over-run me with their hate-filled cries of 'you bigot' or 'you intolerant hater!'
Of course I know that I will be hated. The one who saved my soul was hated and persecuted. And yet He stood strong and willingly suffered so that those people who hated Him could live forever in paradise.
Should I not follow Him? I will follow Him and love those who hate me. I pity them, for they speak and do not understand. They strike but cannot see.
The Lord my God has given his word for everyone to see, read and understand. He has made things clear and warned us of many dangers. One of these dangers is something I see coming in and threatening to destroy what I hold dear.
So I speak out against it. I tell others that this 'lifestyle' they have chosen and are now pushing, is both destructive and wrong. But they will not hear me. They choose pleasure and popularity over both their eternal soul and their mortal life.
It upsets me, and grieves me that so many are running in delight toward their own deaths. They laugh at my words of warning and mock me. They accuse me of being intolerant and non accepting.
Can they not see how much I care for them? Is this what my Maker goes through when the people mock Him? He loved them all enough to die for them a tortured death to save them from the sin that will slowly destroy both their bodies and souls for ever and ever. He sees their pain, the destruction. He is not idle, but opens his hand and provided an escape from all of the harm.
My Lord is mocked, so why am I surprised when I am mocked? Why was I so nieve to think that people would listen to me and understand that I want to help. That there is truth out there and the truth cannot be denied. That some things must be stood for, and to back down from them would be becoming an accomplice to them.
I stood, knowing I was right and fearing for the souls of my enemies, only to see that very few others stood with me. Why? Why won't people stand up for the truth? Why do they hate others enough to let them live on and destroy themselves with pleasure? How can we tolerate letting others be burned and tormented for all eternity?
Yet even when I stood and those who opposed me seemed mighty, outnumbering me three to one. I was not outnumbered. For He who created the universe was by my side.
In the end, judgment will fall upon all of those who refused the free gift that would have rescued them from it all. All have sinned. All deserve death. Yet 'God does not delight in the death of the wicked' and 'He would that none would perish'
To be just, evil must be punished. And punishment has been paid for all of those who would come and turn away from that which destroys them... This world is slowly dying from the inside-out, burning up in their own desires. Who can be saved from this world of death?
Whosoever wills. Whosoever comes to Jesus Christ.
