To repent is to be sorry about the bad things you have done, or to regret. Acts 3:19 says, 'Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.' I think repentance means to ask for forgiveness. We must repent before God will forgive our sins because how do you expect God to forgive us of our sins if we're not even sorry that we did them?
