DAY EIGHT - Again a Tourist
So, today I got up and had breakfast. You gotta love how they have pineapple at breakfast every single day. heart

Anyway, yesterday had been a tough day, so today had a bit of a lighter tone. We were allowed to sleep in a bit, and then when we got up we went to a lot of the historical sites.

First, we went to Glover Garden. The man who once lived there was a Dutch trader. The garden is full of statues of famous people who lived there, as well as flowers (duh) and ponds with these freakin' huge koi. It's a really pretty place biggrin

After that, we went shopping. Not much to say about that.

Then, we had a dish called cham-pon for lunch. Nagasaki is famous for it, and it's pretty good.

We then proceeded to the Nagasaki Historical Museum, which doesn't touch on the subject of World War Two but goes through the earlier periods of Japan's history. We got to watch a play based on a story about two lovers from the feudal era, which was funny even though we couldn't understand a bit of the dialogue. Thankfully, Maiko told us the general gist of what they were saying.

Then we got to walk around Nagasaki Chinatown! (More shopping!)

We had dinner at the hotel, which was good because they made us some American-style Japanese food (shishkabobs, hamburgers, FRENCH FRIES) as well as traditional Japanese food.
