Aargon and Alex were walking out of the Forest of Illusion with the little dragon, which they named Sparky, and were talking about new things they found out.
“You know what I heard from my mom,” said Sparky as he hopped over the log.
“What? What did your mom tell you?” asked Aargon.
“Well, technically…,” said Sparky with a grin. “I overheard my mom talking with one of the lead dragons last night.”
“So, your mom didn’t tell you. You eavesdropped on a conversation she was having,” said Alex as he climbed into the nearest tree to grab an apple.
“Well, anyway. They were talking about the Dragon’s Eye…” said Sparky.
“Dragon’s Eye?” asked both the boys as the cut-off Sparky’s statement.
“Yah; the Dragon’s Eye. From stories my mom told me, it’s a mystical stone that controls the …” said Sparky.
“That has the power to give one the ability to control all mystical creatures. With it, you can control the mystical creatures on the island and world.” Aargon said with his eyes closed.
“Ok. How did you know all that?” asked Alexandr.
“It’s in the book my step-father has. A book of legends and myths,” said Aargon.
“Hey, maybe we can ask you step-dad if we can have a look at that book,” said Alex with a grin. As the boys came to the edge of the forest; Alex and Aargon waved good-bye to Sparky as he went back home into the depths of the forest. Both boys ran home to their families just in time for dinner, yet again. Alexandr reached the door of his house just before his mother had gone to the door to call for him. Alexandr waved Aargon on about the book before shutting the door. Aargon ran to his house and jumped the fence.
“Aarg…oh there you are,” said his step-father as his voice returned to normal. “I thought I would have to yell for you to come home.”
“Not today, Pop,” said Aargon.
“Well, normally Alex and you are still in that forest and I have to call for you to come home.” Aargon’s step-father said with a chuckle. “So, what did you do today?”
“Nothing much, Pop. Just some stuff.” Aargon said.
“You know, you have to be doing something other than what you tell me. Aargon’s step-father said with a suspicious look.
“You know, Pop. Hanging from trees, jumping logs, and having races,” said Aargon trying to cover up the truth.
“Ok. I’ll try to believe that. Let’s just eat,” said Aargon’s step-father.
