I am left shaking with every second. I can feel the tears running down my face as my mind fully realizes what its viewing…the insanity, the brutality. For several years I have been left not knowing of all the horrors my own kind brings. My mind tries to sugar-coat or justify this harsh reality and tries not to give it a second thought, however, deep down in my heart I know…
I know all the secrets and I know all these lies. The lies we tell to justify these heinous acts upon other beings. I was taught as a child that God made Adam and Eve so that they may help form the creatures of this world and to live amongst them in peace and in harmony. But…that is not the case; it has never been the case. For as far as we have existed and as far as I'm concerned, "Man Kind", has been brutally torturing and victimizing the creatures that live amongst him, beside him. It does not matter if they serve him or protect him their kind still suffers in the end.
"Of all the animals, man is the only one that is cruel. He is the only one that inflicts pain for the pleasure of doing it. It is a trait that is not known to the higher animals."
- Mark Twain "The Lowest Animal"
How do they suffer? How do the creatures that have been here so much longer then us--creatures that we instantly put under us, and creatures we also call "Man's best friend"--suffer? As they are being starved, tied down, beaten, asphyxiated, burned, cut, gutted, skinned, shot, stabbed, shocked with electricity, and placed into small dirty spaces left for them to bask in insanity…they feel pain.
They feel when their stomachs twist and churn due to starvation and malnutrition.
They feel the ropes tied around their feet and around their necks.
They feel when you hit them, kick them, strike them with blunt objects, and stepped on.
They feel when their breath is being taken from them, minute by minute.
They feel when they are stabbed and when the blade is sawed into their throats.
They feel the prodding and the jolts of electricity sent throughout their bodies.
And they feel their minds playing tricks on them as they pace and scratch to get out of their cages or out of the mud or out of the diseased water.
They feel the pain we inflict on them everyday, across the world.
It's more than enough to make me sick. It amazes me that many of us can walk around living our lives accepting all of this, that we can justify it and find different terms for it. We say "Butcher shop" when we really mean Slaughterhouse. We say "Pens" when we really mean cages. We say "Profit" when we really mean pain.
Of all the creatures that were made, man is the most detestable. Of the entire brood he is the only one--the solitary one--that possesses malice. That is the basest of all instincts, passions, vices--the most hateful. He is the only creature that has pain for sport, knowing it to be pain. Also--in all the list he is the only creature that has a nasty mind.
- Mark Twain's Autobiography
Animals are beings too. Beings that want to roam free, beings that want to see the sun, and beings that want to feel the earth beneath their feet. But we, man kind, have found many excuses to impede these wishes. We justify it all the time for economic and scientific reasons no matter how little sense it makes. We say that it is all for a good cause that it can help fight against diseases and illnesses but…if that's the case, then why don't we test ourselves? Why don't put ourselves in the place of the animals we harm?
Because then people would find it cruel and unjust…
These beings or creatures much different from our own kind fight for the lives they want to live or for the things they want to cherish, but are soon crushed under the boot of man--one that shows no mercy.

Description:
This isn't much for the faint of heart although it is something most of us see or hear about everyday. Animal cruelty is a crime not matter how much we try to deny it.
