The two friends didn't want to stay there. It was dangerous to stay there longer. They seemed like they were from a higher place than them. Much higher. When they left, Natashi had stepped on a twig, and i snapped. Yes, snapped. The people they were eaves-dropping looked towards their direction. At least, that was what would've happened if Natashi actually did that. They sped away, not looking back. Jacob turned to look at Natashi.
"Do ya think.. That they meant us?" his voice sounded scared "I mean, maybe it was?"
"Naw." Natashi replied "Doesn't seem like they would take the time of day to worry about two teenagers."
Jacob looked at him, not believing what he had just said.
"Are you serious? You say that, even though that a goody-to-shoes angel just tried to make sure we don't see the light of day again? And you honestly think that two obviously malicious men wouldn't give the time of day for two teenagers!?" Suddeny the fear in his voice was gone. Just pure anger was left.
Natashi abrubtly stopped.
"Look, Jacob. I don't know why you are making a big out of this, but get yourself straight. Do you really want to make a scene here?" He said, clearly angered "For all we know, the angel we escaped could be here, and heard us, and, gosh, I don't know, whatever the hell else there is out there!"
At this Joshua just stood there, looking down.
"Now, let's move."
They didn't speak until the next day.
"What now?" Jacob said, his stomach rumbling.
"Dunno"
Silence. Then the sound of cracking twigs.
"FOOD!?" Jacob said.
What came out was unexpected. Horrific but terrifiebly
"Cute" said Jacob
"OMFG PUPPY WITH NIGHT TERRORS!" Natashi said.
"No. A baby hellhound."
"How the hell do you know what a hellhound looks like?"
"I was kinda raised by them, y'know. I mean, yeah.."
"Rawrgh." barked the hellhound innocently.
"Wonder if it talks.." Natashi said quizickly.
"Yes I do."
"HOLY MOTHER OF PUPPIES WITH NIGHTERRORS. It speaks."
They were all silent for a few inutes until Natashi asked something.
"So it'd be nice if you could explain a bit about your past. Just an idea.."
They looked at each otehr with intensive stares.
"No." Jacob said, as he started walking. "Lets go, Natashi, Hades."
"That's it? No?" He said, catching up. "And we're keeping the hellhound now, is that right? He's a HELLHOUND."
"So?"
"He's a hellhound!"
"You're point is?"
"Well.. He's a hellhound!" A little bit of a whine in his voice.
Jacobs Past
So cold.. Somebdoy, help.. an infant cried.
A rustle. Where from? Who from?
Child don't cry. a soft, yet agressive voice said.
Huh?
The infant turned to look at a beast that resembled a dog, it's fur pitch black, sharp teeth, and eyes like the sea. The figure looked down with sympothy for the child. Beneath it lay an infant cover in cloth on a bed of flowers, alone in the night sky. His only company the stars twinkling above. What could be said of this? Who left this poor infant alone like this? Why? It was all too mysterious.
Come if you can stand. the beast said.
The infant felt safe with the beast. Warm, even. But could he trust it? Could he trust a stranger, no, a beast from the place that lay deep below this place. Wait. Was he in that place? No. Impossible. This can't be it. It wasn't.
Okay. The boy said innocently.
As the years went on, the boy grew under the hellhounds care until it died. It became an old, frail thing. He mourned it's death, but decided he couldn't mourn no more. It was time to move on. He prepared for what he would face. He was going to leave the on place he felt safe, and enter a completely new one. What would happen?
When the boy, no, Jacob, made it to a city, he decided to learn their ways. The beast had tod him about this in case he would leave someday. The people who lived in the city work, learn, and build. Destroy, kill, live. He would have to blend in.
'Here we go."
And now this is where he stands. With his old friend, Natashi,a nd a newly met hellhound.
End for now.
