- A wretched and ear pirsing screech came out side my window. I turned, startled from the sound, to see what had mad that horrible noise. A cat was dangling from the branch of the only tree of my back yard. Clawing at it with all its might to hang on. I stood there horrified by the seen playing out side in front of me. The cat was twisting its head wild with furry to find a another way o get down with out falling down to its doom. Then I coughed a glimpse of its face, the short second was enough to nock the breath out of me. Its face was full of terror and despair. But it was suddenly still. “ No!” I said “keep fighting’ but my voice was only a whisper. The cat gave up its fight for life. It looked at me his eyes full of understand meant and comprehension that its life was over. He looked at me with a painful look. With the look of a creature in pain and desperate to ease it. I had to look away, I had to. It was to much. It was unbearable to watch it giving up its life and falling to its death. I had to turn, I had to. But couldn’t. I was frozen were I stood, I couldn’t move even though I wanted to turn and not watch it die I couldn’t! its claws started slipping, and it gave up, it had unclench its claws from the branch and was falling, falling, falling to its death. I stared at it. I stared at how its body twisted in the air how its eyes were full of rejoice as he fell. He stared at me with a question in his eyes asking why? Why are you sad? I was trembling frozen in place as I was I watched the cats life end with a low thump. Its body was twisted in the most sickest ways I could think of. A large puddle of blood was forming under it. But the thing that impacted me the most was its face. He looked so peaceful, but its body said the contrary. My legs gave way I was suddenly on the floor crying, sobbing. I couldn’t believe what I had just witness, what I had seen in front of my eyes. I wanted to scream but my voice was lost as was the cats life. Lost in the unknown. Never to return, but the only difference is that my voice would return but its life wouldn’t . It never will and that was what stung me the most. I didn’t know him, this was the first time I had ever seen it in my life. But it cased me great pain to had watched it die and to know that it was also in pain. The cats pain was so great that it didn’t fight for his life, he gave up and died in peace. Pain can be felt by every living thing, even the most insignificant creature. Pain is great in this life and only the ones that suffer the most wish for their death.
