Yes, you heard right. Last night during Tae-Kwon-Do, I was pwned by the punching bag (I'm supposed to pwn it! crying ). I was practicing uppercuts on a standing punching bag and finally discovered how one gets bloody knuckles.
I had wondered my whole life, especially since I couldn't write it very well without first-hand details, but now I know. You gets bloody knuckles when they hit something so hard and fast that it rubs the skin off your knuckles. It may take multiple hits, as was true for me (three in fact, and I nearly bled. One more and I would have). It's times like these that putting 100% into my training really sucks.
The pain has died down since the first few hours of injuring my hand, but my second knuckle is completely covered in a dull blood-red, and a bit of damage on my first knuckle (plus a small spot of dried blood) shows that it got hurt, too. Oh well, at least despite the fact that the skin is a bit tight and somewhat sore and it stings like a b***h when I wash my hands, it will probably heal eventually. At least now I know why martial artists in manga and anime bandage their hands. crying *Sob*
