Chap. 1 The journey.
Running through the woods, Kira tripped over a rotting log. Standing up, she looked around and brushed herself off. Then, continued to run. She was running towards something, not away as you would not have guessed. Coming up to a small clearing, she stopped and began to make camp. Her journey would take her several days on foot. Six wile walking, five running. So, she chose to run the whole way. Kira took out a small sleeping bag and rolled it out then, proceed to her next item of business, shelter. She would've brought a tarp with her, but it would have cut her travels in half. She decided to use she had in the surrounding area. The only problem was, there was no sufficient supplies to make a man made shelter nor was there a natural one that was not occupied. With this knowledge, she decided to keep moving through the night. This, was her first mistake. Kira ran all night and was utterly exhausted in the morning. She collapsed in the middle of a road. Lying there in the heat of midday, she soon began to over heat and passed out.
The second mistake she made was one she could not evade. She met Hana. Now Hana is an exceedingly interesting girl. A girl who seems older than she is. The one thing that attracted the most attention were her eyes. Eyes that were a molten ember color, eyes that mesmerized you so you couldn't look away, eyes that had a deep sadness within them. Her hair was silver, braided and hung down were it touched the ground ever so slightly. When Kira first saw Hana she thought that she was from a rich family. That however, was soon cleared up. Hana was a thief and very well at what she did. She stole all of Kira's supplies and ran down the path. Kira was infuriated. She tried to get up but failed due to her fatigue. She had forgotten she had ran the whole night. She tried again, this time standing up and walking down the path in the same direction Hana ran. Which was, unfortunately, the opposite direction Kira wished to go. She followed her anyways. This was Kira's third mistake. These mistakes would shape Kira's destiny.
Kira walked down the path. Thoughts running through her mind about what she was going to do about her current situation. After walking for what seemed like ages, Kira saw Hana, Lying of the road a pool of blood around her limp body. Kira stopped dead in her tracks. The reason far being mad at the girl left her in that moment and she rushed to her aid. The girl was still and the only thing that was telling Kira she was still alive was the small rise and fall of the girls chest. Up and down, up and down it went. Picking up the girl and carrying her, Kira walked towards the nearest village. ' What happened to this girl?', she wondered to herself. The girl squirmed and groaned in agony. Kira sat her down and pulled out some bandages. "Stupid girl!", she said in annoyance, "What happened to you?" Kira began to undress the her so she could treat her wounds properly. She left her inner robe on leaving the girl with some modesty. She finished bandaging her arm, when she noticed blood staining her silver locks. Carefully, Kira took off the coolie hat the girl wore. That's when Kira figured out what happened to the girl. Hana, was a hanyou. A half-breed scum of the earth. Kira was disgusted. She finished treating Hana's wounds. Looking at her Kira stated, "I'll stay with you until you wake up.". She sat down and watched the girl. About two hours later, Hana opened her amber eyes. She reached up and touched her head, running her fingers across the triangular ears that gave her away. She noticed the bandages on her arms and legs. Looking around, she saw Kira. Staring at her for a long moment, she sighed. "Why?" was all she said. "Why?" Kira began to answer, "because I believe everyone help once in a wile."
