All the women, including me, of my family met at a large basement store of an eccentric man to look for dresses. The dress rack was the dressing room. I took off my slippers and put on a long blue and white edwardian style gown. It fit perfectly, but my aunt thought it was too long and was supposed to be shortened to mid thigh. I went to put my slippers back on, but they were gone. We searched the man's house for them. Everyone else had left, as closing time was five minutes ago. The parking lot behind the store was surrounded by trees, and a strong wind began. My mother and the man were talking when a large pine produced a halo that swiped over it. The man made some remark about how "they swoop over, drop one and woosh!" I turned, remembering my slippers were still inside, and saw another taller tree be struck by lightning. The very small tip of the tree sailed over and hit the building, falling a few feet from me and still smoldering. I picked it up and felt excited. On the way to the elevator that went back down, another round chunk landed a few feet from me, but the man said to leave it so he could inspect it, and that I had my slippers. Which, I did. The scene changed to our house, and the storm was stronger now. My mom asked me to bring the cereal outside, so I went to the porch and put it on a pallet of cereal. I wondered if we should put a tarp over it, but it was already wet from rain. I wokw up.
