It’s a small book, but the 160 pages are packed with delicious cake recipes. In the beginning you’re given an introduction which shares useful information about what you need to know when it comes to baking a cake. After that it breaks down the types of cake into sections, the first being the classic & everyday cakes, fruity & nutty cakes, special occasions cakes, chocolate & coffee cakes, small cakes, cakes with a difference and frostings.
The main focus is cake recipes which is why there aren’t a lot of photographs in it. The book is nice, but I wish the text size was slightly bigger so that it’ll be easier on the eyes to read. Other than that, some recipes include tips such as the buttercream frosting. The tip for it is that you can make a coffee-flavored alternative by using a tablespoon of instant espresso powder in 2 teaspoons of hot water and beat it into the buttercream mixture.
