There are times when I just don’t understand people. This happens to be one of those moments. There always seems to be a large amount of people that support a villain’s action. I don’t know what other reasons they do so but the main one is that the villain is good looking. Seriously, just because they are an attractive villain, it shouldn’t excuse their heinous actions. It pisses me off when I see people make up excuses to justify what the villain did.
There’s nothing wrong with admitting that you like the character despite their evil deeds. But to make excuses for them and to turn them into something they aren’t? No. Just no. That character is suppose to be bad, don’t try to make them into a good person who does bad things. That’s a lie.
Seriously.
People shouldn’t be giving excuses for villains horrid actions. I’m disgusted by what I read from people that do that. Ugh, for example a bad guy was in the process of raping a female character. I’ve seen some people make excuses for the character such as ‘he was drunk. He wouldn’t have done that if he was sober.’ Or, ‘oh it’s the environment he’s in. It’s stressful and he’s affected by it the most’.
Another, would be when a villain stabs the woman he loves in anger because she doesn’t love him back and she made it clear to him about it. Yes, he was disgusted at himself and regretful afterwards but he knew what he was doing. There’s no excuse for his action but apparently people try. For example, they’ve come up with ‘she was suicidal and ran into the blade’ excuse.
They are bad guys — villains because they choose to be. Their actions, their words all add up in the end which makes it clear to people that they are. But when people just ignore that fact and make excuses for their actions…just no. I understand liking a bad guy because he’s attractive, alluring, witty and just so good at being bad but I would never support or condone his actions. It worries me when people make excuses for villains.
There’s a difference between liking a villain because they’re interesting and liking the villain for…well, because they are sexy and just for that reason people make excuses for their actions.
