Whether you’re new or not, maybe you want some helpful advice to make sure that your play through of the game goes smoothly? Well, here’s some advice that I hope will help you.
1. You can hold the E key down and it will take everything that is not full. It’ll save you time of picking each loot up in those chests, boxes and whatnot.
2. You can’t stop mid-quest. Saving and quitting the game will leave you off at that first checkpoint. So don’t be surprise if you made it through the bandit camp, reached the boss, and then had to call it a night because it was 1 AM (cuz you had school or work the next day). You will find that you will have to start all over again if you do that. So in short, make sure you have plenty of time to complete a mission (which you can do by turning it in when you’re done).
3. Check every box, pile, crate, washing machine, locker and toilet for loot. You need all the money you can get and you will come across some awesome weapons, mods, Eridium, or shields. That also means to check what the enemies drop too. Unlike the first game, this one has better rewards to find if you check them all.
4. Sell the weapons, shields and whatever else you don’t need. It helps to get more money for other things.
5. Unlike the first game, you can’t store health items in your inventory. They can only be use when you’re low on health, not when you’re already at full health. So whenever you come across them in boxes or whatnot, remember where they are at. You can always run back to them when you really need them.
6. Use the black market. You can trade your Eridium for permanent upgrades to the amount of ammo you can carry, more importantly if you select the small segment to the top right of the black market menu, you can upgrade your backpack and carry more loot.
7. It helps to carry at least one of every type of weapon, which can make it easier when facing tough enemies. Sniper rifle, shotgun, etc. Bonus if you also have one of each element: fire, shock, corrosive, explosive, and slag weapons.
8. If you’re a solo kind of gamer, you don’t need to do co-op. You can if you want to but it’s not a requirement. This game doesn’t force you to relied on it in order to get through the game. If you’re having trouble doing the main mission that just means that you need to level up some more. That is what side missions/quests are for. They give you the experience needed to get stronger and it helps that they also give you prizes/find awesome loot (which can help you with the main mission).
9. Use the explosive, electric, corrosion and whatnot barrels to your advantage. And for the love of all that is holy, don’t hide or stand next to one. On that same note, be aware of your surroundings. If your standing on a train track then don’t be surprise if you instantly die because you got hit by a train.
10. Go to Michael Mamaril as often as you can. He’ll always be at Sanctuary but in various areas of it so you’ll have to look around for him. Every time you find and talk to him, you’ll get something. He’s a NPC that’s willing to share with you his loot, mostly weapons that aren’t that bad. They are normally green, blue or even purple guns.
