Well, it’s been two weeks I think since the water heater broke. So that means bathing has become difficult to do because there’s no hot water. The good thing was that the water heater broke when the weather was warmer. But the major problem is that fall is coming and that’s when hot water is most needed.
So far my family has been bathing the old fashion way. Heating up water in a large pan on top of the stove and then washing ourselves while standing in the tub. It’s a little bit similar to what the traditional Japanese do, the only difference is that we don’t soak afterwards. That would take so much time trying to heat enough water in order to fill the tub and so on.
I really hope it gets fix soon. I don’t know how much my hair can take. I wash it of course but I always find spots that shampoo is still left behind. So my hair becomes stiff and dry looking even with a bit of conditioner. I’m managing just fine but I will get pissed when it gets colder and the water heater is still broken. I already had a hard time showering in the winter, I would hate to imagine what it’ll be like without a water heater. You know, because my parents are stingy with the heater and so the house is still cold in the winter.
Ugh, that’ll be horrible. My dad wants to try and fix it himself (who knows how long that will take until it’s fix) that is if he does, because if he can’t he’ll get a new one but that’s the last thing he’ll do. In the mean time, I’m going to think positive and learn from this experience. After all, it’s a useful skill/knowledge, especially for emergencies and survival of what to do when someone doesn’t have hot water.
