The thing about the internet is that there’s always pornography.
#34. There is porn of it. No exceptions.
#35. If no porn is found of it, there will be.
So it’s no surprise that porn appears whenever you’re at. More so on Tumblr which has blogs establish just for porn. Sometimes porn leaks into the tags people follow. Even those tags that are not known to get them. I can coexist with the porn posts in the tags I follow, but sometimes they just piss me off or disgust me. Not everyone wants to see it or have to go out of their way to avoid seeing it.
The major problem I have is the lack of warning. There should be an option for the poster who wants to post porn to hide their image/censor it. That way they can post whatever s**t they want, while making sure to be respectful of those around them who aren’t interested in seeing those kind of things. After all, what if you’re at work and want to check the tags you follow? But you can’t because you don’t want to risk having porn appear. What if you’re at home and one of your parents walks into the room? It doesn’t matter if you’re an adult, it’s always awkward when parents see that.
Tumblr doesn’t care what you posts, nor are they making any effort to create an hide image option for that. So the fault mostly goes to the bloggers. It’s their responsibility to properly tag and warn others about the sexual content in their blogs and/or their posts. It’s important that they tag their posts with what they are “NSFW”, “18+”, “porn”, “hentai”, “ecchi”, “yaoi”, “yuri”, etcetera to make it easier to avoid (and for some people, easier to find).
