Every single time I see products on television selling fake tans they always look orange to me. I’m not the only one to think that either because I had this conversation a couple of times with friends and family members. Being naturally tan is fine and I can understand why some people prefer using other methods to get it. But when you start looking like a carrot or a burnt oompa loompa then something is very wrong with it.
Is it that difficult to go to your backyard and spend some time working on a natural tan? My parents are pale just like me but they manage to tan every summer. That’s because they are always spending an hour outside enjoying the weather. Though the real reason they are outside in the backyard is to work on their garden. Either way, they always get a nice healthy tan and some sunlight is good for you. More so if you make sure to put on sunscreen. Also despite what people think, you can get a tan with sunscreen. It’s sunblock that prevents you from getting any UV rays at all.
Sunscreen protects your skin from getting burnt but allows room for tanning to happen. The key to tanning safely is to build it over time by using a good sunscreen. Afterall, sunscreens all have different levels of protecting your skin. It’s recommended by some to use a sunscreen with an SPF of 20 that hydrates your skin while protecting it. Such as La Roche-Posay, with Anthelios SX, which is making waves for its moisturizing quality and protection against harmful UVA rays.
Seriously, what’s the point of getting a fake tan if you’re just going to look orange? You might as well do it the old fashion way if you’re so intent on getting a tan. Or at least try to find a tanning product that comes close to the real thing.
