“My name is Bobby Singer. In twenty-four hours I’m gonna lose my memory. So here’s everything you need to know.
Monsters, demons, angels, vampires, the boogeyman under your bed: I’ve seen it, I’ve hunted it, I’ve killed it. I’m not the only hunter out here, but there aren’t as many as there used to be. Not near as many as there need to be. I’ve learned everything I can about every damned critter that walks, crawls, or flies, and I’m not gonna let that all be for nothing. I’m not going down without a fight. I’m not letting everything I’ve learned disappear. So that’s what you’re holding in your hands—everything I know. Anything that’d be useful for Sam, Dean, and the hunters that come after me.
It’s a guide to hunting…it’s a guide to me. My last will and testament. Ya idjits.”
Before buying this I wanted to make sure it was worth it and from what I’ve heard about it, it’s got lots of good reviews. I completely see why too. It’s a good read because it consistent to the show, it gives us a bit of insight of Bobby’s life and it does an excellent job in being written in Bobby’s perspective.
So far, a lot of the books dealing with the show, Supernatural have been lacking in consistency, especially when it come to details. Details are important and it’s annoying when authors don’t watch the show and/or make sure they are correct. Fans always know when something is missing or incorrect. But this book is my favorite, because it’s humorous, but also informative when it comes to the supernatural. The only problem I had with it was that it was a quick read and wished it was longer. Maybe one day the author will decide to do a sequel in which Bobby decides to create another guide that goes into detail about some of the monsters, chants, hex bags and so on.
Anyway, I recommend this book, especially for big fans of the show.
