We emerge from our slumber a darkness surrounds us. With the flip of a switch, the walls tremble, shift, and buckle outwards revealing our doweling. The gold covered floors glow from the soft amber glow of our rare collections of glowstone. Our tables are still over flowing with yesterdays bounty. Red velvet rugs are laid out over the cool metal floors. The fireplace doubles as a trash disposal with intellectually wired switches to open, close, and morph its function. This is our temple, where we lay after a long days rule. We step out just as the maroon sun pulls itself up to greet us, our temple to our back glistening in the morning sunlight, a peaceful tune plays as our new day begins. This world of voxels is our domain, shaped by our will. I shed my mortal limits by a simple phrase “game mode one”. I bound into the air soaring fast, looking for a place that will complement my next creation. What will I build today; a monster trap, a house, a musical device, or something to which its purpose has yet to be discovered? I spot a hillside, more aptly this hill was more a cliff than a hill, for half of it was missing. “Prefect.” It would be a great place to start a library to perform gear enchantments. With a wave of my hand blocks disappear, removing dirt, sand, tress, grass, and stones. I wiggle my fingers and they appear, placing cobblestone foundations here, erecting walls there and bookshelves filled with books here. Several days have passed not until every detail has been conceived my creation is finished. I marveled in its beauty, it was good. Pleased with my work I returned to my temple. As I approached the main gates, the sun was just cresting the top of the temple. I flipped the switch to open the doors. I waited. Nothing happened. I did not hear the moving of gears, nor the shifting of pistons. I heard a faint noise, a hiss, the calm before the storm. The ground, the walls of my temple, and floors erupted in explosions. The door flew open from the force, smoke and explosions burst from the sides and the ground beneath my temple collapsed. I was unaffected by the explosion, but all my hard work was gone, what remained was a hole in the ground slowly filling with water and lava. Damn Grievers.
