It was early on a monday, and who doesn't hate those. I had set out on a mission to create a team of hero's. In a world of normality this was going to become a long strenious journy. The bleak horizon never moved, ever. As i found myself in a desolite town, the sun had begun to set. The shadows seemed to be creeping up on me. I turn around fast, for there was a strange presence behind me. Shaking off the fear, i kept walking. A voice then lurked into my ears, "Who are you?" I jolt arround to find the person responsible for my fright, No one was behind me. "Do I need to repeat the question?" The voice demanded. My eyes searched around the street, nothing. "I should be asking you the same question." I Said bluntly. Then I stood there stumped. Where was this voice comming from?! "Listen here you, " A boy jumps off of a roof. He gets in my face, "I'll be the one asking questions arround here! Now, answer the question!" I step back a foot or two. Looking him in the face, "Kasi, don't wear it out." I reply. He crossed his arms. "Well, don't act all big shot over there! What's your name." I asked He looks down, then back up. "My name? Oh, right. I've read about that....My name is, Jak." He replied reaching out his hand to greet me. I shook his hand and grinned, "Do you by any chance have any....how do i put it....Unique powers?" I asked Jak. He pulled his hand away and stepped back. I obviously caught him off gaurd. "Why do you wanna know that? You going to conduct experiments on me like they did to my sister?!" He said frightened. "No! Why would I do that to you?! I just want to know because I was going to invite you to join my team!" He calmed down, looking arround his face turned puzzled. "Your, team? There's no one near you." I laughed, putting a hand on his sholder. "That's 'cause your the first recruit!" He looked at my hand, then back up. "I never said I'd join." Jak stabbed. He then pulled away again. The expression on my face turned to depression. "Oh, okay." I said calmly. I then started to walk away from him. Just then, "Wait!" Jak shouted. He caught up to me. "Sorry, I was born a jerk." He said, rubbing the back of his head. I look at him surprized. "Does this mean you join?" I question him. He never did answer me at the time, but i knew it was a yes. Having a new member on the team meant i was one step closer to my goal. Now, if your questioning my motives of creating a team, I wont tell you. That would ruin this story for you! We traveled over mountans, ate wild animals. By this time i knew Jak very well. In fact he was my best friend, the only person i knew at this point. As weeks turned to months, i was becoming discouraged. Jak and I then stopped near an abandoned train station entrance. "So, you where scared when I asked if you had powers, what exactaly are your powers?" I asked in a bored mannor. "You realy want to know huh?" "Why would I ask if I didn't?" He sighed then looked at his hand. In a mere second a small flame had appeared just above his palm. "Happy now?" He closed his hand, extinguishing the fire. "Very." I replied respectfuly yet bluntly. "What exactally are your powers miss head of the pack?" I raised an eyebrow. He was clearly challenging me, I returned the stab. "More usefull than yours thats for sure." He laughed, doubting that I was better. "Fallow me and I'll show you, jerk." The mean word slipped out of my mouth. Just accross the street was a skyscraper. I walked in casualy and went to the elevator. Now if you haven't noticed, no one is realy alive arround here. An out break of a deadly virus had killed everyone. As, we reached the top of the building, Jak fallowed me closely. I walked over to the edge, "So, from this location, what do you think I'm going to do Jak?" He looked over the edge. "Commet suiside...." I grinned, he wasn't even close. I took a deep breath and then jumped over the edge. "Kasi no!" He said in a freeked out tone. He stared. I closed my eyes and felt the wind going through my hair. I could see how this could be mistaken as suiside. Jak kept looking over the edge. "Looking for some one?" I said. He jolted arround. "How did- you where- and I. Woah your floating." I laughed at his reaction. "Did you think I'd realy let myself die? Wow, you have little brain power for a fifteen year-old!" I commented. "Hey!" I continued to laugh. The look on his face was priceless! We ventured back down to the first room, then out where we were before. I Looked across the street, there I found an abandoned hotel. I tilted my head. "Hey Jak, what do you think about that place?" I said pointing to the hotel. "What about it?" He commented. "You think anyone would be in there?" "Doubt it." I sighed at his answers. I squinted my eyes to make out what the building was called. The Freezer Burn Hotel, what kind of hotel name is that?! None the less I curiously walked in, Jak fallows. "Woah, it's pitch black in here!" I felt the wall for a light switch but ended up touching Jaks face. "Uh-" He reached for his pocket, taking out his only flashlight. "Here, use this." He handed the flashlight to me. I took it and turned it on, this whole hotel was thrashed and heavily covered with spider webs. I step into a seperate section, that looked much like a dining hall, or main room from what i could make out from my flashlight ray. Suddenly, The air arround me had shifted. I head faint female laughter comming from all directions. "Is someone in here?!" I spoke loudly. I barely head a whisper echo, "You should turn back!" "Where are you miss?!" I replied to the voice. An echoing giggle iminated from all around me. "Miss? Isn't that rich!" The voice was now comming from one direction. Then a door slamed shut. Open. Shut. I stood there frightened, my lack of vision must have been causing halusinations. "Kasi be careful!" Jak had stayed by the entrance. "Shut it Jak!" Annother shift of air, as cold as ice. A frezing hand touched my sholder. I tried to turn to see who it was, but my feet had been frozen to the floor. "What the-" I struggled to move. "Teeheh, I told you, you should have turned back!" A girl steped into view of my flash light. She took a good look at me. "Kasi!" Jak ran forward, then slamed into an invisable wall. I heard his cry of pain and disguarded it. My heart was pounding in my chest, the fact that i was unaware of my surroundings frightened me. 'where is she' i kept thinking to myself. "Nice power you have there miss?......" "Reigna. Now that you know my name," She ran up to me and threatened me with a shard of sharp ice. "Explain yourself!" The sun had slowly taken full advantage of the room, showing me my surroundings. I suddenly struck up a plan, I had to wait until the sun had perfectly melted the ice around me. "My name is Kasi, the guy is Jak. Nice to meet you." The sun had melted the ice that bound my feet. 'Perfect!' i thought then swiftly kicked out of the ice. I then swung my leg into the air, knocking way her shard of ice. "Jak! Burn a flame!" I commanded. He did as I said. Reigna then backed off into a shady corner and tried to keep herself cold, As if she was going to melt. "I knew it! Your here to capture me!" I had heard this reaction before. I waved Jak to cease his fire. He then lowered his flame and stood there obedently. I went and sat next to Reigna. "We aren't here to capture you. We're here to recruit you!" I smiled. Reigna then stared at me for a while. Then she looked over to a corner across from herself. "Okay, I'm in, but if you try to experement on my I'll do this to you." She pointed to a newly lit corner full of frozen people. I nodded in agreement for i wished not that to be my fate. "Not a problem. No experements, promise." I then reached out my hand to her, she took it, and all three of us made our way out of the hotel. With a new member we were now even closer to my goal.
