Devil May Cry center on main character Dante's goal of avenging his mother's murder by exterminating demons. It has four game franchise, with a prequel installment prepping for release, consists of 'hack and slash' gameplay which the player must attempt to extend long chains of attacks while avoiding damage in order to exhibit stylized combat. It is a survival/horror themed game akin to the Resident Evil franchise from which the idea originally derived. For those that are Devil May Cry fans this news might come across surprising but there's talk about a movie coming out. Screen Gems, the studio which brought you the Resident Evil and Underworld movie series (and others such as The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Quarantine, etc), has plans to adapt another popular video game, Devil May Cry into a movie. So far, it's unknown if it's going to be live-action movie or animated one but majority believe it will most likely be live action. What we do know is that, Kyle Ward (Kane & Lynch, Fiasco Heights) is working on the screenplay of the movie and that it's more likely to come out sometime in 2013. Some people are concern about such news. They're right to worry because almost every movie that based on a video game turned out to be terrible. The problem is that whilst the US has the money to realize elaborate set ups such as DMC's aesthetic they lack the ability to actually stick to the plot/logic of the universe they're using to create the movie (and in a lot of cases the ability to hire actors/writers with talent who actually know what they're dealing with). For those that are fans, what are your thoughts on this?
