Hey, I never wrote anything about christmas! And that's a cryin' shame, because it was really nice this year. Let's rectify that now:
Nell and tilly had set their alarm for 5:00 the night before xD I asked them in the morning if they did get up then, and nell said "no, my clock was broken so we got up at 7:30 instead." A likely story. 7:30 is actually fairly early for them, they sleep in loads.
Eventually, everyone got up and we did the presents. I wasn't expecting much because I hadn't asked for anything and my parents normally need guidance when they buy presents for me. I was pleasantly surprised C: Dad had gone to town especially to get me some chocolates from bon bon's, "I chose the chocolates too, I didn't just buy a bag off the shelf!" he told me proudly. I also got lots of stuff to keep me warm: hand warmers, a sleeved blanket and a scarf with microwavable warm bag things and pockets. Mum got me some nail polish and I got some fancy coat-hangers which I asked for when mum and I went house-warming-present-buying xD
Bertie was really excited buy it all. He got some toy animals which he really liked, he was really sweet playing them. And he got a boy toy! It's a toy digger which says stuff when you press a button. He loves it when he goes to other places to play, and they've got proper boys' toys. I mean...we've got some toys which are aimed more at boys than girls, like that dinosaur and various trains. But the overwhelming majority of toys in this house are pink and frilly with sparkly wings.
After we opened all the presents, we watched our new film, "Ponyo". That calmed things down a bit. Once the film had finished, I set to work on christmas dinner!
Because this year, I said I wanted to do it. The procedures started as soon as I got up, actually. I roasted some chestnuts and peeled them just before we watched the film. I did a variety of roast vegetables, some stuffing, a shop-bought nut roast, a few chips and quorn things for nell and tilly and my proudest dish glazed brussel sprouts with roast chestnuts cool and mum made a parsnip sauce.
And it was all delicious! It looked good on the table, I was proud.
Nothing eventful happened after that, we just lounged around, played a bit of our new game, "wii sports resort" and we hardly argued at all. I think that's what made it such a pleasant christmas.
I also had a nice surprise on gaia at christmas, my secret santa had given me not one, but THREE lovely presents. Thank you for contributing to one of my best christmases in years C:
