I got back from kenya....2 days ago? ...Yep. It was really really good, I look back on it with fond memories. I'm very glad I went. I kept a journal whilst I was there so I won't go into a day by day account of what happened.
Erm...I'd say the highlights were dancing and singind around the fire and swimming in the waterfall. The waterfall camp was the best one C: I did feel homesick at the beginning and I felt upset a lot over the 3 weeks, but that's just me being me. Even when I was upset, I still thought of the expedition as an amazing experience.
I haven't found that I've had to adjust to much of a reverse culture shock. Most of the time in kenya, we were just with the expedition people. The only time we saw much of kenya was when we were driving through it in the guerba trucks. And it was very much an "us and them" situation, with us waving down to them. I have found it...not strange, just missing being in a big group of people and having jobs to do. Not that we were on the go all the time, there were times when we just sat around for hours. But there were many times where lots of jobs needed to be done and we all worked in a team ^^ I miss that.
If another opportunity presents itself, I would go on another expedition like this. That is my verdict.
