Well, I spent most of today sitting in the petitions forum to see what it was like. There were a few things I noticed, most of them not nice at all. . . .

I first thought I'd put an idea that I've been sitting on for ages into the petitions forum to get some feedback and maybe some people signing for it. The idea is that gaia creates a bank system that would allow users to put some gold in a bit at a time for items they are questing, like really expensive things such as Fallen Wish. It would make it easier for when you're questing an item, but then some new items come out and you waste the gold you were saving on that.
The feedback I got was just plain rude and b*tchy!
Sure, I wasn't expecting everyone to suddenly jump up and go 'OMG I SIGN THIS IDEA IS SOOO AWESOME', but I wasn't expecting the 2 people that did reply to be so rude! The first basically said that she didn't see a reason for a bank anyway, which is fair enough, some people can just sit there for weeks on end with around 500,000 gold rotting in their gold area, but what about the people that can't? What about those people that just have to spend on items they probably will never use?
The second in my eyes was completely uncalled for. Some stuck up girl decided to point out that all it took to not spend your gaia gold was 'self dicipline'. I'm sorry, but the way she wrote it really got on my nerves, like I was retarded or something.
My idea was to make it EASIER to save up for questing items. I know that you can just sit there like a turd and not spend a penny, wasting away in the games and forums, but that way is kinda boring, and like I said before, what if something new comes out and you want it? What then? Those little quest things people have in their sigs have to be updated every now and then and I've seen how much of a b*tch they are to muck around with, so my idea would've made it a little eaiser on those things because people wouldn't have to make the gold go back down everytime they spent some of it!
Well, that was the first thing I noticed on the gaia petition forum.
The second thing was the lack of admin and moderater feedback.
I read through the rules and I noticed that the admin had pointed out in them that they'd changed the site numerous times based on some of the petitions in the forum. But that made me think, how long did that take and what were those petitions for?
I browsed through the place, looking in on some of the bigger petitions, especially one that had over 6,000 gaia signatures. I read through quite a few of the pages, reading what everyone had to say and the owner of the thread handled each question pretty well with valid responses. This petition in particular was on the offers page to get gaia cash through completing the offers which Gaia had put in a list and how most of them are scams, virus huggers or thefts.
But, with what I'd noticed, nothing had been done about it. Sure, Gaia had recently put an announcement out declaring that it had gone through the said page and added new offers, whereas it had removed the expired and dodgy ones, but when I went to look they hadn't, infact they had just added MORE of the scam sites.
So, I signed that petition. But what is really bothering me is the fact over 6000 gaia users had signed this thread, yet gaia had done little to nothing about it.
How many signatures does it take until gaia actually changes something? 10,000? 100,000? A million? [Can't remember how many zeros that has... I think 6 O.o?]
And what petitions have they actually acted upon? How many signatures did they have on them until gaia actually thought 'You know what, so many people want this to happen we might as well do it'?
All these questions lead me to one final, overall query. Does gaia actually LISTEN to their audiance anymore? Or have they become a cash stealing scam site which so many people have pointed out now.
I have been on this site since 2004 [I think o-o I wouldn't know, the new My Gaia layout doesn't show that information anymore -.-], and it seems that more adverts are cropping up by the second. I've also noticed that most of the new items that are brought out are cash shop items and to get these for gaia gold you'd need about 500,000 of it just for a pair of shoes. Everything is either cash shop or highly inflated on the gaia marketplace. The new items in the gold shops arn't really good if they arn't in their sets, like the hocky gear. I think the only things out of that gear you could use in another outfit would be the mask and the hocky stick, the rest would look out of place.
Anyway, I think I've rambled on enough about my findings today. I must go, it's 6:15am ^^' Kinda went over my time which I was gonna sleep again. Mum'll probably screw at me later today then for getting up in the later afternoon... ah well, sh*t happens life goes on. G'night!
