_Scene_
Lynn sat in the dark shaking. Her parents yelling and screaming again all night.Her younger sister Kayla shivered next to her. Kayla was able to sleep through the rages and fits, Lynn didn't she thought her parents might try to killl her or Kayla. The night was dark, it was a new moon, it was raining, thunder boomed in the distance. Lightning was blinding and nerve wracking. Rain pounded on the windows.
Lynn's jeans were wet on the bottom, she'd been sitting in the basement for a few hours, and the basement flooded in the rain, she pulled the now sleeping Kayla into her lap and held her close for a awhile. "Damn it! The damned basement flooded again." she murmured angerly. Kayla didn't stir. Lynn looked at Kayla's pale features, she was pale with dark auburn hair, green eyes and a small smile, she was also quiet and shy.
Lynn had short black hair, a bit longer then a pixi cut but not past her shoulders, blue gray eyes and played soccer off and on.She had a show offy additude, wasn't spoiled, gentle, speaks her mind and has a boyfriend named Cody. Cody knew about the fights and stuff that happened at Lynn and Kayla's house. Usually Cody allowed them to stay at his house.
Lynn shuddered, pain filled her right leg, someone was stumbling blindly through the basement,she didn't make noise although she was filled with terror.She felt something hot and sticky start oozong out of her leg; blood, a scream was building in her throat, two hands grabbed Kayla roughly, a knife slashed across Kayla's throat. Lynn screamed.Tears filled Lynn's horror struck eyes and spilled down her cheeks. Kayla's blood was all over Lynn and the basement, Lynn's silent sobs were choking her. She gasped for air and sobbed softly. The scene burned in her memory. Lynn got up kicking and slapping, she pulled Kayla's limp form away from the unknown figure, Lynn's tears fell into Kayla's bloody and matted auburn hair.
