Daddy
'I was glad daddy came home that day. I hadn't seen him in a really long time." "Is this the day you were talking about?" She asked curiously. I nodded. "So he took me to a local fair in the next town. I was little and it was the first fair I ever went to." "And the only fair?" I nodded again. "We had fun, we went on the Ferris wheel, daddy bought me some cotten candy." "What did it taste like?" I shrugged, "I remember almost everything. I guess it just tasted like cotten candy." "Okay. Keep going." "There was one ride I really wanted to go on that night, it had airplanes that you could sit in and spin around on." I clutched my knees. "You don't have to say anything else." "Yes I do." "Okay." "So daddy let me go on the ride. He had bought us both bracelets, but he was too big. I went on the ride on my own." I took in a big breath before continuing. "Daddy said if I could go on the ride on my own, he would go buy me a present. Of course I agreed. All little kids love presents, right?" She nodded solemly. "I went on the ride, and the woman who was operating it started it. Daddy went off to go get me something from one of the game stands." "Is that when it happened?" "Yeah. The lady pointed to the sky and was saying how we were riding on airplanes just like those. Apparently they dropped it right then. The bomb landed right on top of the stand where daddy had been trying to win me a stuffed animal." I cried.
