Halloween, Sheets, Profiting, and X-mas |

A while ago I made a topic suggesting that the Refurbished Sheet be removed from the store. It's really not serving any purpose, but it seems to be staying there. Meanwhile, they are flooding the Marketplace almost as much as game items, but at least those will serve an (eventual) purpose.
So, yes, keep the damned sheets in the store! It was a Halloween fad item, kind of like the paper bags, but this one is staying, ladies and gentlemen!
...whatever. I really think that it would have fit the ToT event better for the sheets to be temporary.
One person in aforementioned thread (maybe more than one, but one in particular) accused me of wanting the sheets removed so that I could profit off of them. I only have two in my inventory, and no one can profit off of an item that's so cheap, easy to get, and high in supply, not for years and years. In the meantime, I can profit more quickly off of other things.
I've been buying craploads of game items in anticipation of their eventual tradability for other items. I really want that blue paper crown in particular, and I already have around 1.3k pieces of crumpled blue construction paper. I anticipate needing 5k-10k pieces for a crown, maybe more. Still, I'm not precisely running low on gold.
It's pretty easy to make gold in the Marketplace on Gaia. Yesterday, I profited around, hm, 4k from buying and selling, and that's factoring in all the bugs/trash/flowers that I bought. And that was mostly off of store items. Who needs event items to earn gold? I sure don't.
Meanwhile, Christmas is coming up in about a month, and S Corp is the Big Deal in the GCD. It seems to be interesting enough. The elf techs aren't precisely like the lab techs from last year.
Well, we'll see how it goes. Yetis might be fun.
Edit: Yesterday, I had a really amusing/sad PM conversation with a n00b. I was selling grunny slippers on the market for 2.9k, which was the lowest price at the time.
kim12332 hi i am kim and i am poor i will give you 990gold 4 the grunny slippers I'm cynical, but I try to be optimistic. She was wearing some semi-expensive non-store items, and she says that she is poor. She also apparently has the writing skills of a 5-year-old (or worse; I knew how to capitalize when I was that age). But, gee, 990g for a 2900g item just screams "beggar." Combined with the nicer items, it made me think "leech."
So I kept my reply short... Tasogare Sorry, that's a really bad deal for me. I don't lower my prices that much. And she said... God help me if she really thinks that 10g is a good price rise.
I can't help but feel more cynical at that. Tasogare 10g more? rolleyes If you were really poor you wouldn't have a pandy pack or a coon tail. You seem like you're lying, and you talk like a n00b.
I probably wouldn't sell for anything under 2.5k, if I even sold for that much. Hey, what can I say? When someone offers almost 2k less on a 3k item and then thinks that a 10g rise in an offer is worth something, I want to laugh in their face. But I think the only emoticon that fit ( lol ) is kind of annoying. kim12332 my friend got it 4 me on my B-day and ok 4 1010g Well, good for your friend. I don't know you, so don't expect charity from me. That's what I felt like saying, at least. And she raised her offer by only 10g again. What type of idiot is she? She's a n00b, a ditz, and a leech.
I replied telling her that her offer was too low and raising an offer by only 10g wasn't helping. Then I ignored her since I've dealt with her type before. They either get all bitchy at you because they think they deserve charity or keep on begging ceaselessly.
And now she is also wearing a KiKi Kitty and Grunny Slippers. Either she's a habitual beggar, a liar, a leech, or all three. Any of which annoy me. Ah well, too bad. My slippers sold about 5 seconds after my last reply to her. xd
