Rant Report 2: Yaoi Fangirls |

Warning: Some language and some adult themes.
It is no surprise that I'm not a fan of yaoi. Ugh, I hate it! But that doesn't mean I hate all yaoi fangirls because of it. Trust me, I have a few friends that like it and love reading, writing, drawing or whatever about it. However, they unlike other rabid yaoi fangirls don't force it upon me or others into liking it (especially when a person stated that they don't like it in the first place). But I've come across some yaoi fangirls that can't take no for an answer. They are the ones that make me and I'm sure other people, hate them. After all, if someone has an OPINION (which they happen to disagree with) about it, they get defensive and attack you. I have a right to state an opinion but they just don't get that. They attack anyone that tries to burst their little yaoi bubble. And it's not just me but my friend too (who happens to be a yaoi fangirl herself) that agrees with me. You see, this is my opinion about yaoi and it's fangirls (just some of them though). What annoys the hell out of me, is the way they write stories about the male characters. They ignore the facts that are completely canon about the them and the storyline. Really. If you're going to write yaoi don't ignore the facts about him with a girlfriend, or that he hates the guy you're trying to pair him up with. Heck, don't ignore the fact that this guy risk his life to save his girlfriend over and over. The point I'm making is that you don't write a story that suddenly kills off the girlfriend, make the guy he hates want him, and have that guy take advantage of him because he's sad that his girl is gone. And then once the two guys get together, he just forgets his girlfriend or moves on like she was nothing. You don't do that! That's a crappy story. If you're going to write something like that, make it believable!! Don't freaking ignore everything just because you want to write something with the two guys together. By ignoring that you kill those characters's personality, who they are. Have some freaking pride in writing a DECENT story that makes sense and is realistic. By doing that, people will read it and some will probably be surprise at how well it was done and how well thought out it was. Of course, I will never read these stories (unless one of my friends asks me to check their story for characterization, spelling, grammar) myself. Oh, and another thing. This part below isn't just aimed at yaoi fangirls. It deals with fanfiction writers in general. We all love the Japanese language but don't use it in your stories! I've seen it go threw so much abuse. If you don't know the terms, the phrases or whatnot don't use it. Using it, just messes everything up. If you're typing in English, stick with English. Don't throw random Japanese words in it. The only times it would make sense to use Japanese is if the whole entire story is written in it OR if one of the characters only speaks Japanese. In other words the character is a transfer student who may or may not understand English completely and uses random English in their speech. But otherwise just speaks in Japanese and someone understand them or translates. But another thing I notice with stories is the reviews. I've seen so many reviews that say the same damn thing over and over. "liek omg ^___^ THAT WUZ SO KAWAII!!!1 i luv Kakashi and Iruka 2gether, their teh best lol PLZ WRITE MORE!!" Haven't you heard of a freaking spell checker?! If you take the time to leave a review, then make it readable and a REVIEW at that. You know what a review is, right? If not, it's going over a story and letting the author and other readers know what you think of it. And in reviews you quote what your favorite parts are, what may be slightly off, maybe the author has a few mistakes and you let them know about it. You can even tell them that you like how detail they are or how there's not enough detail.. Or that maybe it's too much dialogue and not enough actions. Ugh, and it's not just the way these reviews are done. They encourage the bad writers because the ones that leave such reviews are blind to the mistakes it contains. Don't just review a story, saying you love it because it features the pairing you like. Read the story for everything it is, not just the pairing, nor for it being mushy or that the characters get busy in it. The same goes for flames. Leave "constructive criticism" and not crap like "U SUCK!!!1 NARUTO ONLY LUVS SASUKE!!" Now back into yaoi fangirl stuff. MPREG, what the hell? O.O Why? Oh hell, why?? They are MALE! They have penises, no breast, no periods, or even vaginas. They don't have the equipment for making babies. It would be understandable if the characters or one of them were a alien, but if it hasn't been proven in the fandom (that the character's species or the character themselves can't get pregnant) then don't write that they can. It doesn't matter if you say it's because they are in love and need a baby. It's not realistic damn it! Besides, there's a thing call adoption. Oh my g- It gets worst! Incest... That is sick. I know you wouldn't want to be with your brother, sister, mother, father no matter how hot they are. So why would these characters want to be with them either? Sesshomaru and Inuyasha don't get along. They at times have their brotherly understanding moments (even if it's mad small to see), they would never be together. Let alone think of such things. And I know there's like one or two countries that have it but it's the cousins that go threw it, and I mean distant cousins. And what is even worst is shota-con and incest together. For example, Seto and Mokuba. They are blood related brothers AND one of them is around 9 years of age while the other is 16. That is SO wrong and I'm surprise that some fangirls don't care about it and spazz in happiness whenever they see it. This is rape, it's against society. And...I don't want to get into this. I've seen to much Law & Order: Special Victims Unit to know these things cause problems no matter where it is. Then there's rape... Yes, man can also get rape too. But they DON'T fall in love with their rapist. They would have psychological problems and become suicidal. This is a serious matter and it shouldn't be so easy to write or even be turned into romance. Something like this is horrible and needs to be respected when you're writing about it. All in all, I'm not aiming this at every yaoi fangirls (nor am I seriously attacking anyone specifically). And if you haven't noticed, my rant isn't just pointing out the things I hate about it. I also explain a few things that can be done to make the things they write better.
Last of all, don't tell me I can't rant. Or that I shouldn't read those things in the first place. I don't read them. But at some point in my life (when I had no idea what it was, I read them) so this is my knowledge of what I've read and from what my friends tell me (and what they've seen as well). And I shouldn't get any comments telling me otherwise. Especially people telling me that everyone is allowed to have their own opinions/preferences in response to my rant about MY OPINIONS AND PREFERENCES.
