"More punch Mr. Iramoto?" A waiter asked.
Ruin shook his head, stading by the tabel, holding his small cup of blue punch. He was at the party, and being identified by many. Even the girls that "loved" him were here. They were as bad as flys when you're covered with soda. Just horrible. Just as thought, they all 'flew' over to him, with their skanky little outfits. That was how they were, and him wearing a white vest split in the middle was how he was. Along with his black, baggy jeans.
"Ruin! I heard that you were comming here, but didn't belive it! What are you doing at a lame party? There is one across the street that is ten times better!" One girl cheered.
Ruin shook his head again, and sipped the last of his punch. "This is a great party. The music is blasting, people are having fun, and this punch is pretty good." He stated.
The girls smiled, and all hugged him at once. Ruin rolled his eyes, and slipped away from their grasps, walking toward the other people, dancing in the front room. The large TV wasn't on, but the thirty inch speakers were. Loud, vigorus electric guitar was playing from a song, and some stranded words were with it. Ruin could tell that it was Hiro's voice, just manipulated. Girls were dancing with guys, and girls. Guys were either dancing with girls, or talking with other guys. Ruin found it funny that he knew all of their names. All down to the last cheer leader, and chess club member.
"Figures you come out from the kitchen. What, hiding the fact that your acting different today?" A voice asked.
When Rui looked around, he found a girl standing by the wall next to him, jumbling with her hair.
Rui turned his attention back to the dancers, and remembered her name. "No, I feel fine. What? You don't like my costume, Ileata?"
"No, I love it, if you are going for the band boy thing. I just thought you were going as the phantom of the party. That was what your sister told me." Ileata answered.
"I couldn't find something to make it work. I just threw this on. You know how I am, not wanting to be expecting." Rui muttered
Ileata smiled, and patted Rui on the head like a puppy. He ignored it, because she always did that to him. Ileata was Adri's best friend, and was told everything about himself.
"Well, you look cute to me. Don't drink any alcohol now, or you might go home with a girl." Ileata laughed.
Rui nodded, and took a deep breath. While he looked around, he tried to match names with faces. The girl being the divil's daughter was Christin, and the one trying to pull off being gothic is Crieg. Rui walked over to the couch, trying to calm his busy mind. He had become so tired, and stressed all of the sudden. It was like he couldn't even remember his name. Ruin, that was it. He couldn't let the names and faces of the others stop him from remembering his own title.
On the couch with him, was another guy. Rui was suprised that he couldn't recognize his name at the moment. Rui didn't even remember seeing him at school, though he looked the age, but also a bit smaller than normal.
Once the boy saw Rui looking, he smiled. "Hi, Ruin. Are you likeing the party?" The boy asked.
Rui put the aching headache away for the moment, and nodded. "Yha. It's pretty good. I'm sorry, but what is your name? I dont' think I've seen you at school."
The boy smiled, and laughed, "Yha, I can see that. It's Lin. Lin Myortia. I'm from a small little town. I was just comming to see my friend, Hirota Shindo."
Rui nodded, and put his head back, feeling the pain acess his mind again. "Yha, I know him pretty well. So what's up with you? Do you like the party?"
Lin nodded, and looked down. When Rui glanced at Lin, he saw the sad, depressed feeling in his eye. "What's wrong?" Rui asked.
"Can we talk somewhere private?" Lin asked.
Rui nodded again. The last thing he wanted was to be here, right in front of the speakers, even if it is just to listen to a depressed kid. Rui got off the couch, and started to follow Lin up the stairs, and into the hall. There was no one up there but them. No one to hear them, no one that could hear them if they wanted to. No one could even see them up there, unless they were over Ruin's shoulders.
Lin sat on the floor, and so did Rui. "So what's wrong, Lin?" Rui asked.
Lin looked up to him, and frowned. "I haven't seen, or talked to my boyfriend in years. Three to be esact."
Rui smiled, and couldn't stop from laughing. Lin didn't get mad, or sadder, just sat there, frowning still. "So you're gay? Well, why haven't you talked to your boyfriend in that long?" Rui asked, holding his laughter.
"In the last phone call we had, he said he was moving to the country, and never wanted to meet me again. I don't understand, and I'm just so..." Lin started.
Rui stopped laughing. He knew serious moments when he saw them. "So what?"
"Angry. And sad. I miss him so much. I miss him being there with me like always. I miss... him." Lin muttered.
Rui took a long deep breath. He was forgeting that he was talking to a guy for a moment. "Why don't you go force him to see you? What happened before the break up?"
Lin started to bite his lip, and his hands started to tremble. "He... and I fell into a fight about something stupid, and he just doesn't get it. I still miss him a lot."
Rui noticed he was putting himself in Lin's position before he knew it. How lonely it would be to be missing a lover for over three years. Especialy if they were close. He felt his own hands quivering, and biting his lip himself. It was irritating.
"Don't worry about it. Get over him. The saying is, 'There are always more fish in the sea'?" Rui smiled.
Lin got a little closer to Rui, but still bit his lip. "It's so hard. I can't take it. I can't find any other like my old Ti. I miss him so... much."
Rui put his hand on Lin's shoulder. "It's alright now. Don't worry about it, okay? You just need to go explore your options I guess. In books, you can always find a person to love."
Lin started to laugh a little, a tear streaking down his face. "Love. I wonder what it's like. They say you are happy, that you are fuffiled with just being with your lover. That's not what real life says though. It told me, that I have to stab my self to death if I ever want a true love. Right in the heart."
Rui took his hand back. He had never met such a down person before. How could a guy crush Lin like this? He seemed obliterated, like he didn't want to even think of living any longer. In most books, without love, that was what most characters did. They took their lives, hoping they could escape trying to find love. Rui didn't want the stuff. It was to burn your heart like poisen, and kill your head like a hammer. Chemicals in your mind come out, and you do weird things you normaly wouldn't.
"Don't be so negative. You don't need love to live. It's just one letter that makes them come together." Rui said.
Lin lightly grabbed Rui's hand, and held it. "I don't know anymore. I don't care anymore. Love isn't what makes things go, it's yourself, right?" Lin asked.
Rui nodded, not really sure of what Lin was getting at. "Yha. Only you can shape your life I guess. Love is only an added bonus for those who get lucky."
Lin looked up to Rui, and Rui just noticed how close they were. "I guess I understand now. I can't let my past become my future, but let it come when it's ready. But, before you go, and probably never see me again... can you kiss me?"
Rui laughed a little, just noticing Lin's seriousness. "You're not kidding, are you?"
Lin shook his head, leaning his head on Rui's arm. "I know that love can't come to me, but I feel that you are the closest I'll ever come to it. I swear, just one kiss, and you can decide if you will ever see me again."
Rui tryed to back away, and say no. He didn't want to end up like Lin's previous boyfriend, never wanting to see the poor little boy alone in this world. It was confusing him already enough.
"No, I couldn't. I don't like guys, I barely like girls! I'm not looking for somebody, anybody." Rui muttered.
Lin looked up into Rui's eyes, and smiled. Rui found it... weird. He felt a funny feeling in the bottom of his gut. Mabey it was from the fact that in all books, when it ends up as one kiss, a whole problem forces it's way out, and somebody is always hurt badly in the end. He didn't want that to happen to anyone.
"No, for the last-" Rui tried to compleate the sentance, but Lin's lips were pressed on Rui's, so he couldn't finish. His lips were so soft, and Rui closed his eyes hard, trying to make it all go away. It wouldn't, and he knew it. What if that feeling he got in his gut was the thing that Lin was feeling, the closest to "love"? All of the books in the world couldn't prepare him for this. This, was another person, a guy, kissing him. How could he explain this to anybody?! But what if this was what could throw him off his thrown? Kissing- having a realtionship with another guy- that was perfect. His only way out perhaps. This boy, Lin, he could save Ruin. Save him by giving him a false title!
Lin unlocked their lips, and backed away. "Well...?" He asked.
Rui smiled. He had to say yes, and get caught in the act. Get caught kissing Lin. "Sure, what the hek. I guess we can give this a shot. But, do you want to go back downstairs? It's really weird being up here all alone."
Lin nodded, and started to take Rui downstairs. Down the steps, some people were waiting for Ruin. He figured they wanted to have answers. To why he was up there with a guy, and why he was at this party to begin with. The girl, Kelly, ran into his arms at first.
"Hey Ru! I have some Q&A for you!" She yelled.
Rui nodded, and looked to Lin for a second. "Shoot. I'll tell you the fullest truth."
"Why are you at this party? Clair is having her's right now, and you always go to hers!" Kelly complained.
Rui shrugged, "Well, I'm gonna stop going to parties so offten soon, so I wanted to end with something new I guess."
"Why are you dressed like a boy band member?" She continued.
"It's Halloween. You're supposed to be something you aren't." Rui explained.
Kelly nodded, and looked into his eyes. "Why did you go up there with a boy? Please tell me your hot a** is not taken by a lower class freak."
Rui laughed, and rested his hands by his waist. "I don't know how to put this, but I am going to go out with him. Bet you don't like me now."
Kelly laughed, "Yha right! You playing hard to get is so cute! I bet you aren't even gay."
Rui smiled, pulled Lin closer, and forced a quick kiss. Then turned back to Kelly, smiling brightly, almost entertained. "Just the thought of you with a guy is so... UH! Hot! God, could you not be so freakishly cute?! I'll get you soon enough."
Kelly walked away, but the others didn't. They went forward to him, asking questions to both Rui and Lin. Rui looked at Lin, and grabbed his hand. Rui led Lin out of the house, and into the front lawn.
"How fast can you run, Lin?" Rui asked, still walking out. He knew that the paparatzie was still following them.
"Uh... pretty fast I guess. Why? You want to run away from the party?" Lin asked.
Rui shook his head and smiled, "No, I want to run away from the nervous followers. Not too many people are going to be happy that I'm..." Rui couldn't gather the right words to finish his statement.
"Involved in a relationship with another guy? I'm so sorry. I don't want you to get rid of your title." Lin muttered.
Rui lost his smile, and started to run fast, letting go of Lin's hand. Lin caught up quickly, and they ran faster. Rui ran past all of the houses, noticing how close he was to Hiro's home. One more turn, and they would be at his own house. Wasn't that conveniant?
