Today my whole school "Team" (Not a sports team. Just a grade.) and I went to a corn maze. You'll probably know what I mean...those places where farmers grow corn tall and strong and cut out paths to form some design for your own amusement and for you to get lost in. This one was of Einstein. As I'm sure you can imagine there were a couple of Scientific activites set up around the maze. In the very center they had something called the "Black Hole."
My peers, if asked about it, would probably tell you about what they're friends said, or what the little lights in the black box that you could look into where like. But I won't, to be honest I didn't notice all that much...except...
Except the flowers. I might be one of the only ones who can notice these things, but when I saw those flowers standing there, still rooted in the ground even though it's late in fall...even though kids trampled around them and over them...even though...they all still stood tall. They all still stood strong. Bees swarmed around them despite the cold fall air. Their colors were practically lumious surrounded by the dark colors of our coatsand the dead pale corn. It filled me with a sense of wonder, of peace. And for some reason...
