Oh, man. "Beleaguered" is definitely the right way to define my day in newspaper today. The vast majority of the staff was off on a field trip today, so I was very in demand as the strongest copy editor in the room. The problem was that I'm not a copy editor; I'm the News section editor. Meaning that as my name was shouted roughly 7-8 times in one hour, often while I was in the middle of working with someone else's story, I achieved almost none of my immense news editor duties. The backlogged work is not going to be pretty. Ugh.
On another note, it's still chilly. Maybe that's why it feels like it's still Wednesday or Tuesday when it's really Friday. This week flew by. I'm still not entirely sure where it all went.
Once again, I hope the cold snap lasts, at least through Thanksgiving. smile
