So. Recently on the Science Channel, I saw a documentary about Stephen Hawking and his work with string theory and how close they are to a General Theory of Everything. (Stay with me, 'cause this is where it gets weird.) Apparently space is actually composed of eleven dimensions, which is why gravity, when compared to the other major forces in the Universe, is weaker than the others (It has do go through these doughnut-shaped holes... or something like that. I didn't really get it either.) ANYWAYS, this got me thinking about the infinite multiverse theory. (I'm coming to my point in a bit... just hang on.) Being the bibliophile/sci-fi geek I am, I came up with this:
What if, when ever we read a story, the images we see in our heads are actually a little window into another universe where what we are reading is occurring?
Then I thought:
Well, if the multiverse truly is infinite, it stands to reason that if that is true, then whenever someone writes something, they are actually creating a miniature window into another universe.
In short:
Authors play god.
Think about it.
This has been a glimpse into the strange and twisted thing that I like to call my mind. smile
