The Chronicles of Gab : Diamond Band of Shiva
It was a cold winter mourning in Zanibo Island. So cold that you could use a chisel to chop down a tree. On this island there were many marvels that could not be explained by modern science, but on this island they were among the common residents. Among these creatures was a serpent dragon named Gab. He was aqua in color except for his stomach, which was tan. He also had a horn on his head and steel for a tail; he had great wings and a beautiful gem mounted on his back witch was highly valued by humans. Among all this, he was homeless, his parents having been killed by poachers for the gems witch they bared on their backs. Gab is very young and has had to make it on his own for almost six months now, and the remembrance of his parents deaths still haunt his dreams. He has long tried to rid himself of these memories, but has never been able to.
As Gab wakes up he tries to find a lake or pond for the water is normally warmer than the air. He finally finds a small little pond in the back of a cottage, although the pond was frozen gab still found a way in. Gab was only 10 feet long and 1.5 feet high so all he had to do was cut a hole through the ice with his horn and dive in, and the hole would freeze back over shortly to hide that he was ever there. Gab has gotten used to these techniques since three months ago when a poacher almost got him as well, after that he made absolute certain that nobody ever found him. Gab had never made a friend in his life because everyone (and thing) he would meet either wanted his gem or wanted him for lunch. So he just gave up all together on the idea of meeting other creatures until he grew older and stronger so he could defend himself, but until then he would eat fish from the ponds he visits and avoid other beings outside of the water. One hour later a girl came out of the cottage and ran straight for the pond he was in. Gab, startled and confused, swam straight for the bottom of the pond and then waited and watched. He knew he could out swim anything he knew about but this pond was so small there was barely any room for escape if anything were to go after him. So his only chance would be to fly out if the event did happen. pg.1
