I'm getting so sick of waiting for this stupid movie to come out. I'm tempted almost NOT to see it just on principle. O_o
(As if that would happen. rolleyes )
Anyway, I'm gonna see if I can't get some more artwork scanned in and uploaded. (Finally.) Stay tuned for pen and ink-ness! biggrin
EDIT: Wahoo! I did it! Behold more artwork for y'all to gaze upon. (I even re-scanned most of the same stuff I posted last time, due to the fact that I got it "liberated" from yon notebook of annoyingness with some help from my dad and a handy-dandy exact-o knife. You'll notice that I also made everything larger this time around, too; figured I might as well.) All images are originally 8" by 11" (or about 20 by 28 cm.) and done on acid free drawing paper. Notes to be included about materials used, etc., as I see fit. Enjoy! 3nodding
From 4/11/08-- I decided just to post these all in chronological order. Not much to say other than that. Oh, I used (why not say this all again?) brush tip pens, PITT pens, gel pens, and colored pencils to make this one.
Done on 4/17/08-- Again, brush tips, PITT, gels, and colored pencils AND white charcoal pencil. And I still say his face looks a little too chubby, but, oh well.
4/25/08-- The usual assorted pens and so forth. With the same critical opinion about his visage looking "off" as last time around. Although it does grow on you after a while, I will admit...
(Note that this is the only drawing here that I sketched in with pencil first. Heh heh heh. xd )
5/15/08-- Ahh, this looks so much better without the weird "shadow" off to one side. The scanner cut off the very bottom of the image, though, for some reason, which I didn't notice until just now. All you're missing is pretty much the date so it's not like it really matters.
5/19/08-- And now for the new stuff. Huzzah! I actually don't like this one that much. Then again I don't particularly care for the reference image I used: his expression just looks so weird. O_O
5/30/08-- I drew this first with gray brushed tip pen, and actually didn't finish it last until night when I added all the colors and such. I think it may be my favorite in some ways. In fact you'll even find a "detail" of this drawing below, just for fun. (Meh, who cares what kind of pens I used? It's always the same anyways and I'm too lazy to keep mentioning it.)
Detail of above image. Cool, huh?
Another one from 5/30/08-- Also drawn in first with gray brushed tip pen and "colored" later. When my dad saw it he seemed impressed and commented that I'd used "impressionist/pointillist techniques." I'm not sure what that means although I do admire both of these styles of painting. (She said trying not to gloat too much.) Incidentally my dad's "arty" like me, although most of his stuff has been photography related.
And still another one from 5/30/08-- (I sometimes do drawings in "binges." What can I say?) And yes, it's all red/orange. My black pens had all given up the ghost completely (and I hadn't bought any new ones yet) so I thought to myself, "Well, why not use red instead since that's a nifty bright color?" I suppose I could add black to it now, but I don't wanna. >.<
Detail of the Joker's left eye (his left, not your left) from the red drawing. I think it's kinda interesting to see it up "blown up" so large; you can hardly tell what it is!
6/4/08-- His face ended up a little too long for some reason, but at least I almost got his mouth right in this one which was what I was really after. I was also still getting used to my new fibre-tipped pens, which --at least in this set-- have shorter tips than brush tipped do, and more vibrant colors. (Which is to be expected, I suppose, since I went for cheap with my brushies instead of quality. lol.) My, how I love my fibre-tipped pens. Made in Germany of pure awesomeness. smile
6/6/08-- My latest attempt at Jokerness. Pretty similar to the one above it now that I look only more "straight on." It also reminds me of the poster art for "A Knight's Tale" somewhat... or maybe I'm just crazy.
Well, there you have it. I still have a few more that I might add at some later date-- mostly little sketches and stuff that I haven't bothered to finish-- and even a couple paintings I did, too, although I don't have a decent digital camera to take pictures of them. (They're too big to fit inside the scanner and the --virtually-- worthless built-in "iSight" camera on my computer doesn't cut it. I'm also not gonna take a photo with normal film, get it developed, and then scan it in, either. That's way too much work for my tastes.) I'm still trying to get the hang of painting with acrylics anyhow, so I guess it's all good. I even did one of ol' Heath-y boy sans "killer clown" make-up; it's not bad I suppose, and I really need to work on drawing him more so that my Joker stuff is that much better. (In theory, that is.) I keep putting that off, though, silly me. sweatdrop
Ack, I'm rambling. Good night, since it's late here, and take care everybody! Cheers! biggrin
