MONSTER [Poem]
You say things feel real
As I stroke your face
And you watch as I trip you
With a web as fine as lace
Because you’ve lured yourself
As far as it takes
To let me say I’ve made
A monster out of me
A monster
Love is so twisted
Right down to the core
It turns the best of lovers
Into fodder for whores
Where straightened up
Is like a blade for the best years
How you give up your life
For theirs
A view tainted
By words so blurred they’re bare
Naked
Blunted and bruised by a nasty game
So who’s faking
When lips don’t lie
Ensnared
A spider caught by the fly
A ruse so sought after they’ve nothing to loose
Pitied by the fools there before you
We’ve seen
How far these games will go
I laugh at the puzzle pieces you’ve named
Which ferried a part of you
A monster
As cold as the name entails
Twisted, twisted
Right down to the core
Humans do best in a world full of hurt
Twisted, twisted
It’s a shame to loose
That part of your heart
That I once knew
A monster
With nothing left to use
Useless
