Art
Well, I've finally done it: I actually put my money where my mouth is, so to speak, and scanned in and uploaded some of my drawings. Please excuse the ridiculous "watermarks" but, well, if you've been following my journal you'll probably already know that I'm kinda paranoid about people stealing my artwork. Anyhow, just click on the thumbnails to see the full-sized images. Enjoy! biggrin

Oh, and please don't leave nit-picky comments about "what needs to be fixed" or any kind of junk like that; I am well aware of my own shortcomings and am continuously doing what I can to work on them. Just so you know. 3nodding

A Bunch of Drawings of the Same Guy (see if you can guess who it is):
(Organized by date, with descriptions of size, materials used, and a few general comments. These are some of the better ones I've done over the past few months-- and that would also scan in well.)

User Image
Original drawing 9" x 12" (or 22.8 x 30.4 cm.), brush tip, PITT, and gel pens on heavyweight acid-free paper (done without sketching anything in with pencil first)
Drawn on 3/12/08

The colors actually look a bit more brilliant in the real drawing, but I didn't want to fuss with it too much (outside of some necessary cropping.) Maybe I should have. Oh well.

You can find the reference image I used here: http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii105/r_s_boston/3205_1205088401_large.jpg

User Image
Original drawing 8" x 11" (approx. 20 x 28 cm... I think), colored pencils, brush tip, PITT, and gel pens on acid-free paper (also done without any sort of pencil sketch)
Drawn 4/11/08

I really like this one; again, it looks better in real life, and now that I think about it, I should probably have made these higher resolution than I did (oh well. I kept thinking that I should keep them small so they wouldn't tax anyone's Internet connection.) Maybe I can upload some bigger versions tomorrow or something.

And you can look here for the reference image I used: http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii105/r_s_boston/joker_wizardfull.jpg

User Image
Original drawing 8" x 11" (or about 20 x 28 cm.), colored pencils, brush tip, PITT, and gel pens and white charcoal pencil on acid-free paper (and yet another attempt without the handy erasable comfort of an initial pencil sketch. It just makes things more challenging.)
Drawn 4/17/08

His face seems a little too chubby to me, but, oh well. I also kinda messed up on the coat but that's besides the point. And the weird "shadow" off to one side on this and most of the other drawings is because they're bound in a hardcover notebook (and I'm too chicken to try and liberate them.)

Reference image be here: http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii105/r_s_boston/darkknight_promo3.jpg

User Image
Blah blah blah, 8" x 11" (20 x 28 cm. or thereabouts), colored pencils, brush tip, PITT, and gel pens, and white charcoal pencil AND drawn in first with mechanical pencil (on acid-free paper)
Done 4/25/08

Yes, his visage looks a little off. By the time I realized just how off it was it was also too late to do anything about it (or save his poor left eye. Although I did try, mind you.) I really dislike how the scanner we own seems to "subdue" colors. Or maybe it's the fact that I had to shrink these down so much to get them to what I thought was a reasonable file/image size. Who knows?

User Image
Original size about 7 1/2" x 7" (Around 12 x 12 cm. I'm too lazy to be any more exact than that), brush tip pen sketch on acid-free paper
From 4/26/08

Following my butchering of Heath Ledger's face the previous day (oops, I accidentally named my "secret" subject. Damn) I decided to try another go at the same image. I must say I am quite satisfied with the results, even if it's "unfinished" and done on a page with other stuff (that I elected to crop out.)

Same reference image as the last drawing (see above.)

User Image
Original work is 8" x 11" (20 x 28 cm.), red colored pencil, brush tip/PITT pen on acid-free paper, no pencil sketch (as usual)
Done on 5/15/08

There should actually be a lot more black and deeper shadows, but my black pens are starting to die on me (you may notice how the drawing is mostly shades of gray-- where it isn't red of course.) You might also notice some distortion on the left side of the picture, where the binding is. Stupid notebook. >.< And how someone didn't bother to try duplicating the weird perspective stuff from the "model" image linked below-- some things are still kind of beyond me. (Maybe a lot of things, actually. Sigh.)

Ack, I'm rambling. Anyway here's the reference pic link: http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii105/r_s_boston/508805266_19509666f9.jpg]

And Now for Some Other Images:

User Image
8" x 11", colored pencils, brush tip and gel pens on acid free paper, sans pencil sketch
Done 4/8/08

I got bored one day and drew one of the pictures I have posted on my profile. And although I don't like the movie "Batman Forever" (more like "This Story Drags On Forever And Has No Point" wink I still like the pictures and my captions beneath them. Hee hee hee. xd

And last but not least, some avi art I did today for Kiara_Adeen. I decided just to post it "full size" since it's not that big (and I'm getting tired of having to post all those links. Ai yi yi.) It's PITT and brush tip pen (on, guess what, acid-free paper) with some added stuff-- courtesy of a wonderful free paint program called GIMP. Hope Kiara likes it!

Ugh. I think I'm done for now. It's kinda late here and I need sleep. So cheers! And see y'all (hopefully) tomorrow. biggrin
