The Double-Edged Sword
The hot sun beat down on the soiders' chain mails as the fifth infantry division marched into the city of Hammad. From a distance it appeared as though a giant wave was beig washed up on the Arabian sand.
Omar, the gate watcher, peered out and observed the strange waves, he dismisses it for a mirage which was not uncommon during this time of day. Omar suddenly heard a whistling sound and before he knew it, an arrow struck his forehead.
Suddenly, all hell broke loose and it seemed almost instant that the city was overthrown. Burned houses seemed like thousands of lit candles illuminating the city. Thousands of people fled for their lives and those that didn't were slaughtered. Amidst the chaos, general Claymore Hamilton walked in triumphed s he approached the town center to claim his victory. He saw a statue of what appeared as a demon with a strange sword impaled through its mouth.
As a memento he ordered his men to pull put the sword. Everybody had bad vibes and felt a cold breeze crawed up their spine. Dismissing the warning, Claymore held up the sword and examined it. It was a peculiar, rusty sword that has strange writings on the blade. Claymore raised the sword in triumphed and shouted " victory" to all his men.
Months passed and Claymores' army found themselves in the brink of invading another city. Gripping the handle of the double edged sword, Hamilton prepared to give order for his men to attack. Suddenly he felt the sword trembling as it wanting to move on its own. Claymore gives the order and again the city was overthrown. After the conquest of the city, Claymores' men brought the captive enemy general to Claymores' feet. As Claymore prepared to execute him he felt the sword heat up, when the sword struck the enemy general it glowed blood red. Claymore thrusted the double-edged sword into the general's heart. Everything seemed to go well for Claymore when a messenger suddenly arrived three days later, reporting that his whole family died of a mysterious death, they had the same wound as the slain general. Claymore became so sad that he threw the sword in the Tigris river. He soon bacame ill from sorrow and laid in bed for weeks, have nightmares of his family slaughtered by the demon on the foundation. Suddenly he woke up and found the sword next to him, the words on the blade of the sword illiminated and a voice seem to recite a chart, in some unfamiliar language. Suddenly he felt as if his neck was being strangled by invisble hands. Claymore tried to pry pit the hands but the grip was too powerful. He reached for the double-edged sword and attemted to cut the hands off, as he struck the hands, the invisble grip suddenly disappeared and Claymore struck his own neck severing his main artery, and vocal cord. Claymore tried to scream for help could not for a single word. In the morning one of guardsman came in and found Claymore lying still on a puddle of blood. The double edged sword was no where to be found.
