Track stuff here, my times and whatnot, stuff that I put in this guild that I belong to, this is nearly the entire season.
March 16, 2007 I was running with these two guys on my track team. (5 miles!) And we ran past this guy beating up his girl-friend. Which sorta freaked us out. Our coach was with us, and she runs really fast, so she ran ahead and called the cops. Who, weren't that helpfull. And the worst part was that she went to these people nearby who had cellphones and asked if she could borrow them to call the cops. They were friends of the couple and said it happened all the time. And it was nothing to call the police over. The guy was punching the chick! And he slammed her head into the door. So we aren't supposed to run in that area anymore. Since two of us (heh.) were wearing shirts with our school's logo on them.
March 29, 2007 Today I ran my fastest ever mile! 6:41! That is an entire thirty seconds faster from my old fastest! I was so surprised that I couldn't believe my mom or the assistant-student-coach type person when they told me. I refused to believe it until some stranger told me it was for real. And..yeah. I was in shock.
Plus I ran the two mile. I got a 14:55 on that one. Eight seconds from my fastest. I placed third in both of my races, which means that I got my team two points total. And the girl's team won! Sure we were only playing one school, but for us to win...that is a huge shocker.
April 14, 2007 Guess what! I had another race. And, I have to say I fared pretty well. The first race I ran was the one-mile, and I took seventh place out of twenty-five girls. I was one away from getting a medal. Which was fairly disappointing. Anyway, during that race there was a pack of three girls, all from the same school, who wouldn’t move out of my way, So I tried to push through them, but that wasn’t going as quickly as I wanted, because they wouldn’t just move out of my way. So I had to run around them. Then I got eighth in the 800 and the two-mile. I almost PR’d on the two-mile…I was one second from getting my record
April 25, 2007 Guess who PR'd!
I did!
In both the mile and the 800, for all you non-track runners, the 800 is half a mile. I got a 6:22 in the mile, my goal was a 6:20, but 6:22 is pretty close! And then in the 800 I got a 2:54, not that fast really, but for me it's good. My brother and I have the same time in the 800...at least for the moment. ^_^
April 28, 2007 There was another track meet today! I didn't do so hot on the one mile. I got a 6:24, and then I did the two-mile and got a 14:45, which is two seconds faster than my old fastest time for the two-mile. It was a really fun meet.
May 9, 2007 I had a track meet…and I PR’d. Finally ending my downhill slope of not doing that. In the one mile I got a 6:21…okay, so I only PR’d by one second there, but a second is still better than no seconds. In the two mile I got a 14:36. A nine second improvement.
May 11, 2007 Guess who medaled? I did, that ‘s who! Not only did I receive a medal for doing awesome in the one-mile, but I received a medal in the two-mile as well. First things first, a story of the one-mile. About one hundred meters into the first lap, I realized there were only eight or nine girls ahead of me. The first six got medals and the first eight got points for their team, so somewhere, something, was telling me to get a medal. I never got one on my own before, and it’s something I’ve always wanted. So I started passing girls, about one a lap, always around the start of the 200. Anyway, I was in fourth but this girl kicked really good and ended up passing me. So I got fifth place in the one-mile. I PR’d. I got a 6:12 miles, nine seconds faster! Then I had a long break, in which to prepare myself for the two-mile. A race I would have rather not done. But whatever, my team needed those points for a win. So I did it, expecting to be up tons of girls. I wasn’t even planning on running super hard or anything. But about a half hour before the race my coach came up to me and said we were almost beating ______(that is the name of a school I wont tell you.) And that whatever points I got in this were vital, as long as I beat all their runners and the girl’s final relay went well we would win. But there weren’t any girls from that school running. In fact, out of the entire invitational there were only five girls running the two-mile. So they shoved us all the way to the last alley and made us run with the guys. Which has happened to me before, so it wasn’t such a horrible idea, but it was a bit irritating, since we were originally in the first alley. I took fourth out of five in that race…and since the first six get medals we all got medals. It was awesome.
