What I hope to achieve in class is to refresh my memory in computer applications, such as hardware and software. Although I learned this in high school, not too long ago in the Academy of Information Technology, these particular things were taught to my class in the 10th grade. So most of this is still a little foggy. Learning the basics is good, but keeping it fresh in you mind is even better.
Because the future of computers is growing, more and more people are seeing computers as required than as a luxury item, soon all types of jobs will be required for you to know the basics of how to function a computer. Whether it's Word, Exel, or even a completely new program that you haven't even heard of. More and more jobs will require this, even schools are requiring for the students to have access to a computer so they can do class assignments.
Computers are taking over our daily lives, so this class is important to me. Because in any point in time someone might ask me to do something for them that requires some knowledge of computer applications. And I will be glad that I had this class. Learning the history also helps, because it creates a clear foundation of computers came to be and how they've gotten to be from extremely large to very small and portable. I feel that this class will help me keep in touch with that information so that I can keep moving in the world of computers.
