Róisín was excited for summer break because she missed her family, her Muggle friends, and gymnastics, but also because she'd planned a summer visit with her best friend. She was finally going to get to show Clara her house and introduce her to her siblings. After all, Clara was her best friend and she ought to get to meet her older brother and sister. In anticipation of Clara's visit, Róisín had cleaned her entire room from floor to ceiling, she'd dusted and straightened her gymnastics trophies, even made her bed. Everything had to be perfect when her best friend got here. The teen had an itinerary planned for Clara's visit, so that they could achieve all the things the girls would want to do. Plus, Róisín wanted to get some girl talk in, because she was starting to crush on someone, well two someones and she really could use the girl time. After making sure that her outfit was on point, she did one more check over her room, tucking her pajamas under her pillow so they were hidden, then she headed downstairs to wait for Clara. Her family had just gotten connected to the floo network this past spring so now they didn't have to make an overnight trip to London twice a year. The overactive teen bounced from one foot to the other while she waited for the fireplace to light up, signaling the arrival of her best friend.

While Rose was waiting for Clara to arrive, Niamh decided to check out this magic transportation thing. Her parents had explained it when they'd returned from London, but she still didn't believe it. "So, how does it work again?" Niamh asked her baby sister, the eldest teen sitting on the couch. Róisín made a face at her sister, then huffed a sigh. She didn't want to be mean to her sister, so she figured that she deserved an explanation. "When you're connected to the floo network, you take a pinch of the green powder, throw it at the floor, then speak the name of the place you want to go. Like our house is the Burke House." She gestured at their fireplace, then said, "Any second, the fireplace will have a green fire in it and my friend Clara will arrive. You can stay to watch." The brunette grinned at her elder sister, who nodded. but crossed her arms over her chest. She was still a little skeptical, since that seemed odd. The fireplace lit up in green fire suddenly, causing Niamh to gasp, and then Clara arrived. "Hey Clara!" Rose called, slipping off the arm of the couch and skipping over to hug her best friend. "Welcome to my home! This is my big sister Niamh. Niamh, this is my best friend Clara." The older brunette, who looked just like an older version of Rose, waved from the couch, her mouth still a little agape at her first time seeing magic.
