Challenge #1: Compliments & Complements
Designers, for this first challenge we want to get to know you all better. Design a look where your model is doing one of your favorite activities, and to add an extra challenge, you're going to be dressing her up in a duotone look. Your two colors must be complementary. Complementary colors are across from one another on the color wheel and really make one another pop when side by side. You may choose to go off the traditional color wheel or the RGB wheel. You must use color though, you can not use black and white. And word to the wise? If you see other designers using a color scheme, pick a different one. The judges will not be happy people if there are thirteen purple and yellow looks submitted. Make your looks stand out!
this is me totally not spreading my SHINee agenda (this one's a live performance of the same track, so flashing lights warning)

Challenge #2: The Higher The Hair...
Designers, now that you have dipped your toes in the water of competition, we know you're ready for this challenge. It's a famous one at Project Catwalk, both feared and eagerly awaited. You have to use the below wig and build a look around it for your models! This is a challenge to really let your creativity shine to make your look stand out from the others. We judges want to be surprised! And to be clear, this wig will replace your model's set hair for this challenge, but only this challenge. And only the hair is changing. Topiary Wig

Challenge #3: ♥ XO Baby ♥
Designers, love is in the air this week. Your models are all excited for Valentine's Day, but they need a little help getting all dressed up to impress their partners. They're working with a boudoir photographer to get just the right look to gift for their date night. What their final photograph looks like it up to you! But it should be seductive, hearts, and romance and bedroom eyes. Maybe throw on some Sabrina Carpenter in the background this week as you work on the looks and bring out your model's sexy side!

Challenge #4: Noire Obligatoire
Designers, we've been doing a lot of challenges embracing color this cycle. But this challenge we want to take things in another direction. Black is required for this gothic haute couture theme. Originating in 1977 at a party hosted by Karl Lagerfeld and represented on countless more runways, this week we are embracing haute goth. Black is required. Think couture, hundreds of hours put into bringing these looks to life if they were in the real world, high fashion. Learn more about different styles of goth here, and see examples of haute goth here. Embrace the dark side this week everyone and blow us away with these looks!
<< tab “To love me, you must also love the dark.” ~ Alix Klingenberg tab >>
i had made several different looks for this challenge before deciding on this one i love the other iterations, but feel they strayed a bit too far into punk or contemporary fashion for this challenge (i took a lot of inspo from ATEEZ)

Challenge #5: This Is No Green Screen
Designers, this week we want you to bring some joy to the runway! I'll be honest, I'm ready for sunnier weather to arrive and I'm hoping if we work together we can manifest it. So this week we're asking you to bring a spring look to life! But maybe that is too easy for this stage. You know, there are certain items and themes that divide the judges every challenge, and one of the most divisive topics? Backgrounds. So for this challenge we are taking them away! That's right designers, no backgrounds allowed for these entries. No full or partial background. Where is the line between partial background and just using an item in the background? There is no clear answer for that, but know the judges will err towards docking points for backgrounds.

Challenge #6: Time After Time || 1990s
Designers, I don't know about all of you, but I am so impatient for science to finally create a time machine. I'd even settle for a holodeck to get me there without all the risk of y'know traveling to a time where there isn't medicine or things are dangerous for most humans. But this week I think you are all ready to take us on an adventure. We're going through time, an entire century, the 1900s! Each of you has been assigned to a decade, and you're going to design a look that embodies that decade. You can bring it to life however you see fit, but make sure it reads as your decade.
i have three (yes, 3!) alt looks that i built LMAO

Challenge #7: It's A Creature Feature
Designers, good job on surviving your first double header challenge! This week we're going for a different sort of double header aesthetic. Your models have all been cast in an urban fantasy movie, and you're going to help develop their look. The first thing you need to do for their look? You need to change up their skin, to any skin you want, but it can not be a normal human skin. Vampire, centaur, pink, polka dot, or anything else you can think of, the world is your oyster! But the new skin will be for this challenge only, and it can't human. Have fun with this and don't hold back!
<< Tough as Rocks >>
Even in a world where all the stories are true--a land where vampires, werewolves, faefolk, and others coexist with humans--many still do not know of the gargoyles Beyond being mere architectural features perched upon rooftops, they are nocturnal guardians of the city and its inhabitants. Upon daybreak they return to their stone forms Lurking atop buildings in the rain with a raven stubbornly perched atop her head, Maeve begrudgingly admits he is her companion and names him Edgar

Challenge #8: What Day Is It? || Monday
Designers, I've always been a big fan of the personification of inanimate things and generalized ideas. The emotions in Inside Out. The deadly sins in...anything, including past cycles. My TikTok has been flooded with Hear Me Out challenges where people are even thirsting over numbers. But numbers seemed like a hard one to do, so I'm asking you to personify the days of the week. Bring them to life and tell us who they are. Show us what Monday looks like, give Tuesday a personality. Is Wednesday a crime junkie? Is Saturday lazy, or a party girl? We can't wait to find out. Find your assigned day below and bring them to life! Go bold with this, and really push yourselves to be as creative as possible.
i originally had a very different concept for my entry, which i still wasn't satisfied with even after a week's tinkering:
tears in her eyes on on a sunny Monday morning, Maeve is full of bitter loathing for her 9-to-5 corporate job... but in style! she showcases her desire for coffee in an all-brown pallette, while also giving a masterclass in layering and pattern-mixing
all in all, i still really liked this outfit and ultimately did use elements from this for Challenge #10: They've Got Their Own Flare (i love the coat, especially!)

Challenge #9: Effervescent Essentials
Designers, this week I wanted to give you a unique challenge. You have the most freedom yet, you can do whatever look you want. But. Every item you use - aside from your model's base features - must start with the letter E. I will allow words such as the, of, or, and to come before the E, but nothing more. For example, THE Etoile Bride is allowed, but Sleepy Sherbert Etoile would not be allowed. Despite these examples though, try to be more creative than just 'etoile'. Get creative with different E words and how to use them. I believe you can handle it.

Challenge #10: They've Got Their Own Flare
Designers, it is important for your models to be flexible with their looks. While a signature look can be great for building a brand, being a chameleon is what will guarantee you keep booking jobs. And it is important to be flexible at the drop of a hat, and we want to see you show off how flexible your models can be by giving them an androgynous look. You can not change their hair or face, any of the base features. This is something you have to achieve using only clothing and accessories, some make up. But less will certainly be more with this challenge. Have fun, designers. ;D

Challenge #11: Don't Force It
Designers, this is one of my favorite holidays, and I want to celebrate it with all of you! That's right, you're sending your models to a galaxy far far away for this final challenge. Are they with the rebellion? A jedi? A sexy sith lord to make us question the real meaning of good and evil?! This Star Wars day, I'm leaving it up to you. But it has to be obvious where the models are. Some notable locations and scenes to play with might include a cantina, a speeder, lots and lots of sand. Like so much sand. Get creative and have fun with this. You model has to stay a human (sadly) so no changing skin or base features, and you can only use one item that was released in ode to Star Wars. One hat or lightsaber or whatever. Feel free to go as literal or as aesthetic as you want, and May The Force Be With You.
<< The Naboo Gala >>
"What if the democracy we thought we were serving no longer exists?" - Padmé, Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
the first idea that jumped into my head was to do a cosplay of Padmé Amidala--either fighting in the gladiatorial arena on Geonosis (Attack of the Clones) or her iconic red look as Queen of Naboo the gladiator arena look felt too simple for a challenge at this late stage in the competition... so, go big or go home!
"So this is how liberty dies: with thunderous applause." - Padmé, Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

here's Maeve as Padmé (Geonosis ver.) and as a Jedi:

Final: The Fashion Line
Each finalist will create a theme within their brand, and build five (5) outfits that represent that motif throughout.
The theme can truly be anything. However, it must represent the Designer in a significant way, and the outfits themselves must tie into each other somehow. In this final test, the Judges are looking for signature style and cohesion — the Designer's own personal, preferred design aesthetic being properly featured. In other words, this final entry shouldn't showcase anything new or adventurous, but instead, embrace whatever brand the Designer has established for themselves throughout the cycle. So long as there is brand recognition, and commonality between their works of art, they can consider their fashion education complete.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
The Designers' Model line-up will consist of three eliminated PC6 Models, plus their own Model, and each delegated Model must be present in the fashion line, with outfits catered to their base traits. For your will all be working with our lucky remaining model from this cycle: Lourdes! After the success of the last finale we wanted to keep with there being one model that you all worked with at once. No pressure!
The collection will be judged both individually and collectively. How well each look is styled, how creatively they're tailored to the Model, how well the outfits fit into the fashion line, how much overall brand recognition there is, and how well the description captures the collection, and the cycle as a whole.
All five design photos must be submitted within the same masterfully crafted post, and include: Fashion Line Title, Designer Name, Model Name, Alt Models' Names, Description, and Entry Status.
With the description, it is highly recommended that each finalist take the liberty to introduce themselves and their brand, explain their chosen theme and any muses, touch on motif evidence with a few sentences per outfit, and finally, end with a couple of words to commemorate their Project Catwalk experience. It's the Designer's last chance to plead their case as to why they should be King or Queen of the Catwalk!
emotion_rainbowtabcolour | artisttabemotion_rainbow << the story of identity >>
Reflecting back on all my entries in this cycle, I noticed that colour was one of the key aspects I focused on while building each look For the finale, I decided to refer back to my entry (<< Next track: "Hitchhiking" by SHINee >>) for Challenge #1: Compliments & Complements There, I had showcased my love for K-pop and created a look that was inspired by the fashion of its 2nd generation I'm bring that theme back full-circle here with colourful punchy queer looks in my fashion line
The title of my collection, colour | artist : the story of identity, is in reference to some albums by my favourite artists-- Poet | Artistby Jonghyun and also by SHINee, The Story of Light by SHINee, and the (unofficial queer anthem) song Identity by SHINee (LMAO not me spreading my Shawol agenda, again!)
To sign off, I'm very thankful to have had the opportunity to be part of this cycle of Project Catwalk. It's a truly a great honour to have made it to the finale I loved seeing the looks made by the other designers and I learned a lot from them too-- skills and aesthetic styles that I'll try incorporating into other avis in the future ♥
