 Cynder The Dragon ynder, a Dark Crystal Dragon, had just found a place to call her home. She was aware of the dangers of living near a town, as humans and dragons didn't often mix very well. As she was laying deep within a canyon, which had a hidden gem cave inside which was her new home, she was chewing on a gemstone. Normally dragons ate large amounts of meat, but Cynder's type of dragon ate gemstones. The rarer the stone, the more delicious they were to them, and this cave was full of rare stones.
After devouring several large gemstones, she fell asleep knowing that there was a human village nearby. She didn't trust humans but needed to get something other the gemstones to eat. Plus human food wasn't half bad to her, especially the meats in the winter time. Though she did order semi-large amounts of it, due to her large size as a dragon and large appetite as a woman. Though for right now the village wouldn't have any idea of her being nearby, or of her being a dragon as she would be in her human form as much as possible.

 Duncan is a knight, trained at the Knight and Mercenary School in Aristides. He was trained in how to kill most mythical creatures along with other humans. He has fought with vampires, werewolves, chimeras, and dragons at the school. The school taught that not all of the creatures are evil even though a majority of them were. Their job was to find out what they were like before killing them if possible. Don't want to kill any innocents to make matters worse in a situation. Some of his classmates were werewolves and vampires for that matter. He was on his way back to the knight school since his mission was completed. He had sent his bond bird, Conrad on ahead with his message to the knight school to know that the mission was complete and making his way back. It was getting close to evening so Duncan decided to spent the night in the next village he comes to. Duncan rode into the small village of Aione and headed straight to the inn that he knew that was there. The Silver Wheel, it was called and he got off his horse and took him to the stable behind the inn. Then he went into the main common room to get their evening meal for himself. {OOC: I'll make his post fancier later on, just wanted to get something up for you.}

 Cynder The Dragon ynder was on her way towards town in her human form. Though she wore a cloak with a hood. She didn't want anyone to see her mark of the dragon on the back of her neck. She was getting her 'shopping' done getting herself some meat to last her a little while. She always left some for the humans but always took a quarter of what was there.
As she was shopping she saw Duncan but didn't look like everyone else was doing. She wasn't wanting to cause trouble for anyone, especially not the people of this village. Once Duncan had passed by, and was over at The Silver Wheel Inn, she sighed a bit hoping he wasn't suspicious of her as she was doing her shopping. She'd done nothing wrong, but everyone was always spreading rumors about her. Like the rumor that she was a witch, and that she fed the meat she bought to a dragon that she was raising. No one knew that she was indeed the dragon that was in the rumor. Some people were saying that they were able to hear dragon roars in the nearby canyon. She didn't make eye contact with anyone as she walked towards the edge of town with the large sack over her shoulder. Cynder could only hope that they would leave her be.

 Duncan hadn't noticed anyone amiss on his way to the inn, which he was grateful for. He was tired from his recent quest and want a break. Tomorrow, he was planning to be on his way again after getting some supplies before leaving Aione. He wasn't wearing any noticeable armor at the moment so to not draw any attention to himself. He still carried his sword with him as he knew better than to go without a weapon, not know what the town was going to be like. Duncan found one of the smaller tables in the common area that was in a corner and sat down at it. A serving girl came by and took his order. While he waited for his meal, he was people watching, getting a feel for the town folks that were here at the inn.

 Cynder The Dragon As she started her journey home, Cynder carried her meat supply and a few other things she got from the marketplace with her small wagon. It was hard to find food veneers that would have enough supplies for people like her, and those who did were often ostracized for doing so or banished from town. Once she was out of hearing range the people started to whisper how she must have been a witch or something since she was always wearing a hood and buying larger amounts of food than they would for their families. As she was passing the inn however, she smelled Duncan's scent but didn't act strange. That is until some kids started to throw rocks at her, calling her a witch and a hag. She was actually very beautiful underneath her hood which she kept mover her face when one of the rocks hit her in the head and a small amount of blood started to flow from the wound. Cynder was peaceful so she didn't react as a human would in this situation. Instead she had tears in her eyes, and kept pulling her small wagon.

 Duncan happened to look out the window at the right moment. He saw people throwing things a woman that was pulling a wagon. Duncan went outside and yelled, "STOP!!!!!! If your village wants to continue to have Knights or Mercenaries from Aristides to help you out when troubles comes. Stop attacking this woman! Also stop calling her names." Duncan let out as he made his way towards the woman with his sword out in his hand. "Are you alright miss?" He asked as he reached her, standing between the the crowd and her. Duncan hoped that she was alright and wasn't injured. "No matter what you might be, I can offer you protection as long you hadn't cause any harm to those that live here." Duncan told her quietly to her, not knowing if she was anything besides a woman. He turned his back to her to watch those that had been throwing things at her.

 Cynder The Dragon 'Humans are all the same.....' Cynder thought to herself before Duncan had stepped in. "Thank you, but I don't need your help." She said as she stood and continued on her way. She continued to walk until she came to the forest, at that point she looked around, cautiously, and took off her cloak in front of a small lake just outside of the canyon she called home. No one was around, or so she thought, before she transformed into her true form. That of a dragon, before she dunked her head into the water of a small lake to wash off the blood from her face.
When she lifted her head, she grabbed her stuff and entered the canyon. Once home, she placed her meat stock in a small storage area, and lay down inside of a cave. She sighed as she looked up at the small amount of light coming through the roof's crystals. Her wound had already healed as her kind of dragon were known as fast healers. It was one of the only known facts about them. As Cynder lay within the cave, she listened to the birds and other creatures outside,remembering a much happier time when she was younger.

 Duncan wasn't expecting that reply but should have in a way. "Your welcome and alright. I'm staying at the Silver Wheel if you need any help later on." He replied back to her as he watched her go her way. A part of him wanted to follow her to make her sure that she got home safe. Yet she didn't want his help. He watched her go until she was out of sight. Then he went back inside to finish his meal and to head to bed as it had been a long day. The meal had been great but the woman was still on his mind as he went upstairs for the night. Duncan had a feeling that she was more than just a woman, whether it be a mage, witch, or some magical creature that has taken on a human form. He laid down on the bed, having a feeling that he won't leaving this town anytime soon. It usually wouldn't bother him but Aione isn't his favorite town to stay in. Soon he was asleep and the next thing he knew, it was morning again. Duncan went down for breakfast and wasn't surprised to his friend, Roland here and had Conrad with him. "Good morn to you Roland," he began before Conrad flew to his shoulder. "Good morn to you too Duncan." Roland said as he sat down at the same table as Duncan to break the fast with him. "This is for you from the Headmaster and it might be best to open it later." Roland said without saying to open it when the two were alone directly. "Alright I will, and when did you get here? I made it an early night so I may have missed seeing you come in." Duncan said as he tucked the letter from the headmaster into the inside pocket of his jacket for now. He was hoping it wasn't what he was thinking about. If it was, it would be another reason not to like the town of Aione... If his were correct. "Let's eat some breakfast first before we do anything else." He said before waving a waitress over and ordered them some food. "I got here this morning, not long before you came into the common room. I won't argue with you on that, I'm starving. " Roland said before ordering a few things as well. Once they were done with breakfast, they went out of the inn and went through the town randomly. Once they were heading down the the road that went close to the canyon, Duncan took out the letter and open it. "Shoot, just what I thought might happened after seeing what happened yesterday. I was hoping to leave here today but looks like I won't be anytime soon. But not sure why the Headmaster sent you with it instead of just by Conrad?""Hehe, I volunteered to come as it's been a while since we worked together. So what happened? " Roland asked even though he had a feeling what had happened. Duncan told him what happened as they made way to the canyon that the Headmaster wanted them to check. "If only those town folks knew that you trained with a dragon to learn the magic you used... They might want to run you out of town.""I don't care, as long they don't kill me for it. I use it to help rid of nasty monsters so if they don't like it... They can deal with the monsters themselves..." Roland said as he didn't deal with that crap as he didn't have the best costumer service attitude with others. "So want to stick together when we get to the canyon or split ways to scout the area?""Let's split ways I think. If the woman I saw yesterday is the dragon, I don't want to freak her out with the two of us together." Duncan said as they reach the canyon and wondered if the woman that he saw and interacted with yesterday was a dragon.

 Cynder The Dragon Cynder was in the canyon until morning. She went to the lake for water and a small dip in the water. She loved the feel of water on and between her scales. It was right next to her cave too, so she had no trouble with getting water. Humans were the problem in her eyes, as she only attacked to defend herself. While Cynder preferred flight over fight, she didn't' have any trouble with the notion of defending her rights as a living being. As she went into the water, she dunked her head underneath to cool down. It was a warm morning but not too hot. When she'd had enough of being in the water, she would lay underneath the shade trees that had apples on them. She picked a few for a snack, and found they were nice and juicy. While apples were a nice change, she wished they were available all year round due to how much of a walk it is to the village and how hard it was on her human form to make the trip there and back. It was harder getting back here since the cart was heavy. She'd fly back but most of the way is human territory and because of that, dragons were usually stuck in their human forms for a lot of the way.
After a while of laying underneath the shade trees that were there in the small oasis, she heard footfalls nearby. She went into the cave, wiping away her tracks with her tail. Though she wasn't responsible for anything that might be happening, she had been blamed in the past for things she didn't do. It was how she got the scar that was covered by her jewelry on her neck. Luckily it wasn't a deep gash and missed her important artery so she survived, but it burned her trust of humans.
