I think I was 10 when I started to learn to swim. I don't remember why my parents stopped my courses. I was never able to learn to swim fully.
I learned to swim under water , I can't do the freestyle properly. I need floaters.
Can you swim when there are waves ? I'm so afraid ... I only swim with floaters on.
Summer is coming up. It is fun to chill in a swimming pool ... but I won't chill there alone. I'm so afraid to drown. I want to buy a float jacket. sweatdrop

I learned to swim when I was 6, I love going swimming.
Swimming pools are nice especially if your afraid because you can see the bottom and know what is around you.
I used to go surfing years ago and loved it. But there were times when I was afraid especially going body surfing.
And some people are really crazy and take chances out in the ocean.

i took red cross swimming lessons at 10 years old and know how to save a person from drowning

It's been a while since I last went swimming, so it would take me a while to get back to doing the strokes I learned

I learned to swim when I was in nursery school, so I'm guessing 4 or 5 years old. I grew up on the Gulf of Mexico, my grandparents had a lake house and a swimming pool, plus we fished a lot so I was always around water. In 5th grade I started swimming on a team and really enjoyed it. I was the best backstroke on our team in my age class! I do miss it.
